If you need a portable unit, this does a nice job. However, I would save the $30-$40 and go with one without heat. The downsides are that it does not have the spot massage feature where you can hold it in one place and it does not have adjustable width on the rollers. I think the same unit without heat that sells for around %59-$69 is a better value. If you don't need portablity, I would look into the higher end models that offer 4 rollers and much more in the way of adjustment and programs. But with that said, this does a nice job just wish I knew about the limitations.

While the other review given is mostly accurate, I find the price spot on for the entire line. Because the massager is a mechanism and not just a nonmoving buzzing vibrator it has a soft rattle if you use the vibrator function, but that makes sense. It is as quiet as can be expected. Worth every penny, but if you don't need the light vibration or the heat, order a cheaper model. If you just need a lower back massager then order an even cheaper model, because this will do upper/lower/or both.

Before purchasing this back massager, I tested/evaluated 4 units at local Dept store and decided to buy this one. As some reviews indicate unit stopped working within short time, I asked the salesperson about their experience. She said they sell a lot of these and not many are returned--about 5%, --which doesn't indicate consistent problems. Those who had this problem may be more likely to post a review. I think this unit does a very good job for what it is designed to do. The massage feels wonderful and is relaxing --and can be made more or less intense but how far back you lean. I've focused on use with and without heat and tho heat is gentle, I definitely like heat. I do wish it had spot massage, but that is not a feature of this unit and I don't think it is fair to lower rating because it doesn't do something it's not designed to do. I've bought second unit to give as gift.

Great shiatsu chair massager especially for the price! Has gotten rid of all the knots in my back and made it much straighter now. Definetely worth buying especially for the price compared to others!

The product is much louder than others I've tried, and the mechanism doesn't seem to be as finely tuned. Also, the heat is dispersed through the kneaders, rather than throughout the entire pad. Lastly, I'm disappointed that there's not an option for a spot massage. That being said . . . I'm using it right now.

I purchased this for my mother in law for Christmas to replace one she'd had that stopped working. She'd had it for years and used it every single day. She'd been without it for several months, so when she saw it, she was so excited to have her "massager" back!! She must have used it at least 4 times during the day and had it on while everyone opened presents too!

I personally have never used one, but based on her reaction and the fact that she's called to tell us thank you every day since, I'd say it does what it says it will and more! It's certainly made me smile knowing how happy it's made her! :)

A side note:
My mother in law is 85 years young, today. (Happy Birthday Faye!) She drives, lives alone and is quite active with her church and friends. For Christmas Day she cooked a ham with trimmings and her coffee table was filled with sweet goodies for all to enjoy. She loves her family and for her, that's the only Christmas present she needed. We Love You Mom! :)

I bought this as a Christmas present for my grandfather. He loves it! Whenever I go to visit him, I use it. It definitely does it's job.

It's worth the $100.00 and more that we paid for ours, we have had 0 problems and it sure take the kinks out. Enough said!

I bought this for my mother who is diabetic and her doctor told her not to use this massager. So before you buy just make sure it is o.k. for whoever you are buying it for. It works great though and sadly my mother couldn't use it.

We have one of these at home and wanted a second one for our motorhome! They are awesome!! Everyone wants to sit in 'that' chair when they visit us!!
