5.0 out of 5 stars Got it for my mom as a gift and now I'm getting one
I have tried a lot of hand massagers and they have either not worked well, hurt my back or would worsen my back pain. I got this massager as a gift for my mom this past Christmas and she loved it. I ended up trying it and liked it so much that I have ordered one. I would recommend this product if you are looking for something small and easy to use. Works great on my...

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk, don't buy it
I bought this because I liked the Homedics PM-30CTM, which worked surprisingly well. When that one appeared to be discontinued, I bought this model, thinking it was basically the same. Big mistake. This thing really doesn't work at all -- it vibrates your hand and that's about it. Not only that, whereas the PM-30 emitted just a low hum, this one gives off a jarringly loud...

Works great on my neck and when I have my significant other massage my back with this, he doesn't hurt me.

5.0 out of 5 stars fun little massager, November 22, 2008
Someone left one of these in a grocery items row at Target and I started playing with it, massaging my mom's back in the store, then my shoulders and legs. It felt surprisingly good! Like a massage chair, except self-directed and much cheaper! (It was 4.95 at Target.) It's a great little massager, and the batteries can be replaced. My dog, however, hates it. Oh well, can't win 'em all. :-P

Most massager units vibrate in a lame sort of way from a off balance weight on a small motor. Somehow Homedics transfers that to a hammer action that penetrates into the body better then the generic massage units. I get occasional muscle spasms and this unit tends to get rid of them fairly fast. The doctor perscribes muscle relaxants, but this gets the job done.

This little thing is great. It is perfect size for anyone to use. My son recently pulled a muscle in his back and used it everyday- relly helped with the pain. My parents have an "older" version of this and wanted one for our house as well. Would definitly reommend this product.

This thing really doesn't work at all -- it vibrates your hand and that's about it. Not only that, whereas the PM-30 emitted just a low hum, this one gives off a jarringly loud buzz which is very unpleasant. Even for a cheap massager, this one is garbage.

I once had something similar from sharper image, it was great. It lasted a few years and eventually died after being dropped too many times. I bought this as a replacement but its not nearly as good.

1. The one from sharper image, you could turn on and it STAYED on. This one you have to hold in the button the entire time which for someone with arthritis is very hard, its a stiff button and hurts my fingers before i even get a chance to really get any use from the machine.

2. Its not nearly as powerful as my old one, its ok, but its noticably weaker. Its ok for minor muscle aches, but I get deep tissue aches and need something that can really shake up the muscle, this isnt it.

3. The one from sharper image was rechargable, you just set it down on its base and it was good for a few hours a day. This one is good for a few hours per battery change, the money you think your gonna save buying this cheap will be spent on batteries

This thing is ok if you have somneone else to use it on you for minor aches, if you need something reliable for deep tissue massage, keep looking. If you see the same design and shape from sharper image with a rechargable base, get that one

Also, I know the page says colors may vary, be warned, some of them are hideous, mine was neon pink (I'm not knocking stars off for color, just thought I'd mention it)

If it would just stay on instead of having to hold the button I might actually be happy with it for the price, but I cant get more than a minute or two use out of it before my hands hurt from holding it in the on position

I really like this little massager for some quick relief of sore muscles. I even use it to energize my face muscles. Works well. For the price, can't be beat.

I bought this as a scalp massager, and it works great! I also use it on stress points in my body, and it feels great!! My friend came to visit, and she likes it so much she is going to buy one for home, and work. Highly recommended!
