The radio part of it only makes a buzzing noise. The projector part of it only projects random numbers instead of the correct time that's on the clock. There is no tech support where I can find instructions on how to fix it. I'm returning it to the store.

Terrible. Upon arrival the volume wheel didn't work properly (rotating the wheel would frequently result in NO sound, requiring an additional nudge). Sound effects were poor - "Thunder" and "Rain" for example sounded more like static. And after four nights the time projector stopped working. ONE star is too high a rating.

i would say more but unless you like to make shadow puppets on the wall and can sleep with a powerful night ( i mean room) light on don't buy this.

Unless you can sleep with bright lights, don't care about the correct time, and are not picky about the sound quality, I would NOT recommend this product. I contacted customer service because of the projection time showing differently than the main screen time and they were pretty prompt to reply but they said that it was a problem with MY electric! Who ever heard of that? They said that I would just have to unplug it whenever that happens and then plug it back in and reset the current time and alarm time. I've had this for about 6 months and I've had to reset it about 12 times. Quite ridiculous considering the amount that this product costs.

Pros:
Makes a good night light if you're someone who needs a brightly lit room.
I like that the numbers are blue instead of the normal red.

Cons:
Screen is too bright
Nature sounds sound unnatural (for example the waterfall sounds more like white noise.)
Nature sounds sound like a broken record (they are just a few seconds long and just play over and over again.)
Projection clock usually shows random numbers
Freezes up a lot where you have to unplug it to reset it.
Radio quality isn't that great.

Overall I would NOT recommend this product. I'm kicking myself for not taking this back to the store I bought it from while I still could. I thought HoMedics was a good brand but now I don't think I will ever purchase anything from them again.

While the sound is amazing on the entire Homedics line, they are entirely too bright. They illuminate the whole room. I have tried more than one of these, and they all have the same problem.

I got one of these as a gift. It won't set the right time, the sounds it makes are more static than anything. The projection part is not readable most of the time. Why would a company put out such junk. I will never buy any of their products and put this one in the trash, where it belongs.

I purchased the Homedics 4500 because I love the sound of a good thunderstorm, and this model has thunder as one of the options. Unfortunately, their idea of thunder and my idea of thunder are a little different. It definitely sounds like thunder, but it's the same clap of thunder over and over again with no intermittent rain or any other sound. I ended up going with the rainfall option instead. There is a random tuner for the radio--you have to move it around until you hope you have the right station, but it has been working fine for me as long as I don't want to change it too often. The best thing about this unit is the projected time on the ceiling. Although the sounds could certainly be a little more realistic and the radio could be better, I absolutely love the time projection. I'm going to keep it for that feature alone!

We have owned this machine for over 1.5 years and we use it ALL night, EVERY night, and for afternoon naps too. We travel with it, it has taken some good tumbles, and the sound function has been left running all day on more occasions than I care to admit. Despite our constant use (and abuse), this machine has been a work horse, and has helped our toddler sleep soundly for literally THOUSANDS of hours. I keep expecting it to give up the ghost, but both the sound and clock functions continue to chug along without a problem. Have we just been lucky with this machine? Maybe...but based on my experience I would buy another one in a heartbeat, and plan to do so when/if our current machine decides to retire (which it certainly deserves to do after working so tirelessly). Needless to say, I have NO reservation recommending this sound machine to others.

I havve looked for this kind of product for some time and it really fits the bill. The projection on the ceiling works extremely well. I plan to buy a second unit

I was very disappointed with this product. The display light (even on the dim setting)was incredibly bright. The best surprise was when I went to set the radio station; there is no indicator to show where on the FM dial you are! I returned this poorly thought-out item after one night.
