It's Got Everything, Kinda, January 18, 2009
This review is from: Homedics SS-6510 SoundSpa Fusion AM/FM Alarm Clock Radio with iPOD Docking Station, 6 Natural Sounds and LCD Display (Health and Beauty)
I needed a replacement for my iHome iPod alarm clock which gave up the ghost after two years and stopped recognizing my iPod. Rather than drop $100 for 2 years again, I decided to try this partly because it was small and because it seemed simple, both of which ended up being true. Overall, it does everything it's supposed to and has two big benefits - 2 alarms that can be set separately or simultaneously and those soothing new age-y sounds. The negatives - it takes a few tries to figure out the best way to set the alarm (especially if you're a snooze button addict like me) and the display light is annoying as it only comes in off, super bright and oh my God I'm blind! This is a big difference from the iHome clock which had a very light display light that was perfect for falling asleep. Otherwise, it's a better, more compact product for a great price.

Great, but not for all ipods, February 19, 2009
This review is from: Homedics SS-6510 SoundSpa Fusion AM/FM Alarm Clock Radio with iPOD Docking Station, 6 Natural Sounds and LCD Display (Health and Beauty)
I received this as a gift for my birthday last year (2008). I still have it, use it every single day (I listen to the radio every morning, and my ipod at night), and I have had no complaints. While the alarm system took me an extra couple of minutes to figure out, once I did, I realized it's not that complicated. I really liked the fact that this product charged my ipod, so I could listen to music while it charged. I also liked its size and design. The reception for the radio is not excellent, but it's pretty good. I listen to NPR, and have no problem hearing what they're saying.
WIth all that said, the only problem is that my ipod classic was stolen recently and I downgraded and replaced it with a 4th generation nano. While the nano plays on the product, it does not charge. In fact, the nano itself says, "Does not charge with this product," or something to that extent. Since this is the most convenient way to charge my ipod, I will have to replace my Homedics player.
If you don't have a 4th generation ipod, I would highly recommend this product.

Disappointing compared to what it should have been, December 6, 2009
1. Alarm only works on FM no matter what you set.
2. Display is ridiculously bright, even on 'low' setting.
3. Reception is poor.
sounds are OK
