4.0 out of 5 stars Local control over homeland security, September 3, 2009
This review is from: Homeland Security and Federalism: Protecting America from Outside the Beltway (Praeger Security International) (Hardcover)
Matt Mayer has written a thoughtful, balanced, and provocative analysis of our approach to homeland security and recommends pushing control from Washington to local communities. He makes a compelling case for linking immigration to homeland security, a connection I previously did not grasp. His point is unless we know who is living in our communities, we cannot be certain of our safety. I found it refreshing to read a book that not only points out governmental shortcomings but also recommends solutions.
