Interesting History, not very practical,

This review is from: Homemade Beer Book (Tut books. R) (Hardcover)
This book has lots of interesting information on brewing history and how it grew in the US but the practical information is just too outdated. Brewing has advanced past the stage where there is only one kind of malt and very few people still use molasses as a source of fermentable sugars (lots of the recipes have this).
So if you want a quick and interesting read about brewing and how it used to be done, this is great. If you are trying to make better beer. You won't find much help here. |
