5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
This book is a wonderful read. The author uses a combination of Steiner philosophies with her own personal knowledge to give homemakers ideas on how to find peace and joy in the rhythm of the important job that they do. It gives meditations to practice before going to bed and upon waking that are thoughtful and helpful in dealing with common issues of homemaking. I...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Something I Could Get Into
I was going to read this book for a book group, but I just couldn't get into it at all. It's way too spiritual, with a combination of mystical Christianity and new-age paganism. What is wasn't was practical or helpful. A much better book it "Radical Homemakers" by Shannon Hayes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, December 8, 2011

This book is a wonderful read. The author uses a combination of Steiner philosophies with her own personal knowledge to give homemakers ideas on how to find peace and joy in the rhythm of the important job that they do. It gives meditations to practice before going to bed and upon waking that are thoughtful and helpful in dealing with common issues of homemaking. I found the chapter on motivation to be particularly helpful.

I can see how this book might be confusing for those who are not Waldorf parents and are not familiar with Steiner's teaching. For those who are and want to deepen their anthroposophical practice, this is a great read.
