hear the great Mother Earth open all her tears and moan so musically the gratitude of life with all of its sorrows.

why this later reissue is at this moment a good one hundred dollars less than the original Musicrama issue of 1995 is incomprehensible. Probably that price will fluctuate, have recently jumped from three to one hundred and three dollars. Meanwhile, this re-issue is accessibly priced and well worth the purchase.

You will never hear mere anglo shallow divas again. Here the whole Earth herself sings.

YOu also may not require any other South American disk than this, as it covers a wide variety of rhythms and styles. And once Gracias a la vida gets into your bones, you will set your CD player on rep1 24/7 with that one tune, and it will do you no harm.

YOu will give thanks to life for that one tune. Of course, my Andean ex-wife sang it way better than even this perfection, but that's another story. If only I could remember those guitar chords. Gotto hear it once more. Scuse me while I kiss the earth.

A bit melancholy but good if you like protest and melancholic music. Definitely for listening to when you are feeling good - not when a bit sad or depressed! Certainly not lift-you-up music.
