I'm a naturopathic medical student, studying homeopathy, and this book was indispensible at giving both a clear overall impression of the various major constitutional types, and also a detailed outline for reference at the end of each chapter. I know I will be using this book often in my practice. Not only does he draw from various sources (repertories and materia medica) but also adds indisoensable original information from his successful practice.

This book is an excellent resource for children! I find it very helpful and descriptive....worth it!

I have a few materia medicas that cover the remedies, but none do it as in depth as Herscu does. Granted there are only around 8 remedies covered, but he says that 80% of kids can be effectively treated with them. And because he only covers a few remedies, you really begin to really understand them. Because he uses cases examples to illustrate his points, the book is a hard one to put down for the most part. Great book!

This is an excellent book, and a must for any homeopath and student (although any homeopath should remain an eternal student!) The information is very good, and I like that in addition to the mental symptoms, Paul also provides a good amount of physical symptoms. Many modern books focus solely on the mental symptoms, and we should remember that homeopathy is not psychotherapy. The personality profiles are incredibly helpful, but they have to be balanced by the physical and general symptoms. A word of caution to a student or parent: it is very common occurrence to feel that every remedy you read about fits one's case. Don't be fooled. One needs to be very objective to find the real simillimum. So please don't run out and buy every remedy that you think fits the case, because you may end up taking every one listed in this book. But the information is excellent.

I guess if you want to get better at diagnosing your children's constitution you have to become a homepath. And if they get really sick it is better to seek out professional homeopaths or pediatricians. However, this book is very helpful if you are interested in keeping your kids in a healthy balance naturally. So far it is working for my kids.

About the book itself, it gives a detailed description of 7 remedies, under the headings Mental/Emotional Characteristics, Physical Symptomatology, Physical Generals, Notes, Outline symptoms, and Confirmatory Picture. Under Mental/Emotional Characteristics, the author explains in detail each symptom of the remedy's mental picture, while comparing it with other remedies. Under Physical Symptomatology, the author uses sub-headings of each organ system to explain the remedy. The chapter on Physical Generals gives us the generalities that run through the remedy and also the aggravating and ameliorating factors. The chapters Notes and Confirmatory Picture are a summary of the whole drug picture. Overall, this is a very good book that every homeopath must read and re-read for a thorough understanding of homeopathic children's types.

This book sent me on the path of the correct treatment of adults. Some very insightful things in this book. Must read.
