A day filled with troubles reminds Wishbone of Homer's epic poem as he imagines himself as Odysseus, the ancient Greek hero who encounters monsters and other obstacles on his journey home after fighting in the Trojan War.

This review is from: Homer Sweet Homer (Adventures of Wishbone) (Paperback)
I strongly believe that "Homer Sweet Homer" is an excellent book for kid's or teenagers like me. To tell you the truth my mother thinks it's wonderful book also, not only because she read it also but she'll do anything to get me to read. I am a 13 years old 7th grader that lives in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Ususally when I saw a book in the store I would just walk away from it. I always judged a book by it's cover! While walking through Stop and Shop one day, my mother decided to go in the aisle that says Books and Magazines. I turned around and found a few Wishbone books. I've always watched the T.V series but never saw the books. .Of course I was going to pick one up and look at then put it back down but instead I Walked around with the book until we got to the cash register. While reading the book I thought ot was so interesting. It had comedy, drama and action all in one. I was real glad i read this book. The best parts are when the dog (Wishbone) thinks of himself as a famouse warrior king who has just won the Trojan War. But he runs into trouble like the one eyed cyclops, poseidon the sea god, and others that are just out of this world. After finishing this book, I was desperate to read more. So that's just what happened, I read more. But you Know there are other people who think differently, but that's okay because we all don't have the same intersts. All we teenagers is a book we can read and enjoy. "Homer Sweet Homer" tells the long tale of Homer's tale the Odyssey in a fun but understanding way. All I would like to say is that "Homer Sweet Homer" is a wonderful book for kids and teenagers of any age.
