Product Description

Amazon.com Review

First manufactured in 1936 during Art Deco's later, less ornate phase, Fiestaware went out of production in the 1970s but returned in the 1980s and now enjoys unprecedented popularity. Older pieces fetch hundreds or even thousands of dollars at auction. The new line offers the original designs in contemporary colors at affordable prices. To complete a set of rose Fiestaware or complement your multicolored Fiestaware collection, this curvaceous teapot is essential. Its shape is truly unique--pale rings symmetrically (in true Art Deco style) encircle the pot, handle, and lid. Made of vitrified china with a gleaming, lead-free glaze, the pot holds 4 cups, stands 7 inches high, and is both dishwasher- and microwave-safe. --Fred Brack

3.0 out of 5 stars Eye-catching, but not practical, November 24, 2003

I think these teapots are beautiful to look at and I have one decorating my kitchen. Unfortunately they are not very practical for actually making tea! The handle is difficult to hold and it tends to get extremely hot (which makes it even MORE difficult to hold using potholders!). I do recommend as decoration, but get a different teapot if you actually want to make tea!

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty, but pretty useless, May 24, 2004

This review is from: Homer Laughlin China Fiesta Rose Teapot 44 Oz.
I thought this teapot would be a great addition to my Fiesta collection - I bought it in cobalt. It looks great on display, and I've occasionally used it to hold flowers, but it is virtually worthless as a teapot. The pour spout causes tea to run down the side of the pot and tea pretty much goes everywhere but in the teacup. Only buy this if you're looking for a collectible - if you're looking for a good teapot for tea, look elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Use mine daily, June 15, 2001
This review is from: Homer Laughlin China Fiesta Rose Teapot 44 Oz.
Holds 4-5 cups and is a beauty. A rolly polly design and I find it easy to handle. It is meant to be grasped with two fingers and one thumb with the other fingers as a under brace. Using the other hand you cradle it to pour. You can see mine on my webpage where I keep it on the top of my refrigerator for daily use.

Easy to clean and I like the lip on the spout which helps prevent drips. The lid stays in place and has never come off while pouring.
