Lovely to Look At, Drippy to Pour 2,

This review is from: Homer Laughlin China Fiesta Periwinkle Blue Teapot 44 Oz.
Have to second the person who wrote that the teapot was drippy to pour, but great for other things. It is indeed lovely to look at, its round shape peacefully pleasing. But do not pour over anything you don't want drips on. I remembered the other review and put it on a board on the table with a paper napkin. Good thing I did. It's also very heavy. Keeps the tea hot. Go with the idea that it might be a holder for something other than liquid. I did read the previous review and was prepared. I got it because the shape was so calming. If you know that, you won't be disappointed.

I love the look of the Fiestaware teapots, the simple circles and lines. But if there is a knack to pouring from this teapot without the tea spilling all down the pot, I have yet to learn it. The teapot works well in other capacities though; mine is sometimes a wooden utensil holder next to my stove, or a candy jar, or a rubber band - twistie tie keeper. So it's useful and attractive after all, I just don't use it as a teapot. Most kitchens can always use another receptacle/container. I'm quite happy with my notteapot.

Fiesta is all about the style and practicality, which is why this teapot is just a tad annoying. You must hold the lid very firmly or else it dribbles water everywhere. I believe it is a design flaw. It does keep the tea hot and as long as you're careful it works alright.
