Book Description

At long last, Tommy has asked Rachel to marry him.
How could anything go wrong now?

Rachel Morgan is ready for marriage to Tommy Donovan. She’s loved him from the first when they met on the Oregon Trail. Now they’ve arrived in Oregon, and with Katie and Jason settling into their new home, Rachel wants the same thing. But just as her engagement was a long time coming, it seems their wedding day must also be delayed. Should she use the attractive new neighbor’s interest in her to make Tommy jealous? If he doesn’t stop talking about the wonderful, perfect Miss Preston, a girl he’s met in town, then maybe she will!

Tommy Donovan loves Rachel. He fought their attraction on the trail, but now that she’s agreed to marry him, he wants to make her his bride. But something is holding him back. Is it, as he tells her, his ministry to the Indians? Or does he still harbor deeply buried resentment toward the very people he’s trying to win for the Lord?

Revisit Rachel and Katie as they settle into their new home at the end of the Oregon Trail.

5.0 out of 5 stars home's Promise (Oregon Trail) September 21, 2012

l like the author Mildred Colvin. Loved this book. I enjoy reading historical and romance novels about the Amish way of life. The first book "Mama's Bible" must be read before reading Homes Promise. After reading "Mama's Bible I couldn't wait to start Home'sPromise. I would like to know what happened to the families After "Home's Promise". Thank you Mildred for these two enjoyable books. BJ.

4.0 out of 5 stars Home's Promise October 6, 2012
By Ann
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the last of the series of the trials of traveling the trail to Oregon. Along the way there have been sad deaths to deal with, happy births and the chance to ride along and watch the young people mature and take charge of their lives as they happily arrive in Oregon. Typical of Mildred Colvin's stories this has many lessons in Christian faith weaved in with all each step along the way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!! January 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This was a wonderful story! Mamas Bible and Homes Promise has really spoken to my heart! When we are faced with life's losses and struggles of one's self-worth, all we need to do is look up. God loves each and everyone one of us and He wants us to look to Him when things don't seem fair!

4.0 out of 5 stars Home's Promise October 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed continuing the story from Mama's Bible and watching to see how things progressed with the two main young couples in the series. It was so nice to not know how it would likely end. I also enjoyed the strong Christian faith presented but not forced throughout entire book. Another Great read!
