Editorial Reviews

Review

"Similar to the Patriotic program (volume one), but patches and units require students to map their journey through the seven states that make up the Oregon Trail, learning about each as they 'pass through'...As with Vol. 1, symboliv iron-on patches add to the already motivating study." Linda Schneider -- Rainbow Resource Center

About the Author

Brenda Krames homeschools her four sons in Gainesville, Florida. This book is the second in a series of history and science studies that she has tested on her own children and published for the convenience of other homeschool parents and children. Mrs. Krames' formal education includes graduating as an honor student from LaGrange Academy, a college preparatory school and studying Architecture at Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama. Over the past 20+ years, Brenda Krames has helped establish eight children's churches for a campus based ministry in 5 different states. She also homeschools her four sons, ages 17, 14, 11, and 9.

In addition, she assists her husband, Carl, as a Graphic Designer for his publication, Gator Greenbacks,a student information and coupon book distributed free to students at the University of Florida. She has always seen God's sense of humor in every situation and through the years discovered that today's "highly-stimulated children" learn even the most difficult subjects when they are presented in a fun way. With a "hands-on" approach she has started her own club for students. It is a safe alternative to the clubs you might have reservations about sending your children to. Not only are there fun projects to do, but also iron-on "merit" patches to help reinforce the learning process. The possibilities are limitless! A lot of thought went into making this program as flexible as possible. It works just as well for one student as it does for twenty. Boys and girls can work together or in separate groups. The chapters can be kept simple or stretched to the limit. You decide.
