Book Description

Product Description

What do you do when life gives you boys to raise? In Tina Razzell’s case the answer is homeschool them. In her fifteen years as a homeschool mom she’s discovered that life with boys is not easy, always creative and often unpredictable. She shares in this book her trials and successes homeschooling her four children, three of them male.

At first she covers living with boys and the struggle between boys wanting to be independent and moms wanting to shelter them.

The second half of the book is about the specific ways she teaches boys who won’t sit still and those who struggle to write, with a chapter dedicated to teaching your lefty to write.

If you are starting to homeschool one or more boys, then this book will be a valuable help to your journey. If you have been homeschooling for a while you might relate to some of the stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing perspective December 29, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
As a parent of 3 boys I very much enjoyed reading about the joys and challenges of educating boys. So many books about homeschooling talk about the importance of reading to your children but didn't give any suggestions when your children didn't want to sit and listen. I appreciated the author's suggestions that encouraged allowing the boys to move or stand or do some other activity while listening to a story. This book motivates the reader to remember why he or she chose to homeschool and encourages them to not give up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gave me hope and a vision. August 4, 2011

I appreciate the "realness" of the author. I felt like she was a friend on my couch telling me the good, the bad, and the ugly. But most importantly, what to do about it. I am raising and homeschooling a spirited boy (5yo) and most people don't understand the challenges I face. This author does.

This book has given me some great advice and a long term vision that I just haven't had. I feel encouraged and inspired for my homeschooling journey ahead of me!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and honest look at homeschooling boys July 28, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is a very candid and humorous look at homeschooling three very active and challenging boys.

Through much trial and error, the author discovered a very innovative and productive method for homeschooling her boys. While this is not a step-by-step how-to book, it opens the mind to think outside the box about what homeschooling is and how to approach it.

Read between the lines and you will find just how much work went into the author's homeschooling journey. Read this book and learn what doesn't work. Save yourself the trial-and-error time by learning how to approach your own homeschooling journey.

Best of all, this book is fun to read. Sit back and enjoy the show!
