i'm going to be obvious about this: i am writing my own review. only to say that the other aberdeen albums listed with this title: "SUBURBAN" and "ABERDEEN" are not by the same aberdeen. if you are looking for other music by us, these are not it.sorry about the 4 stars. but it's better than putting 5 right?

This is a totally cool album. I've seen them play at the Derby in Hollywood. They rock! My favorite song is "Cities and Buses". It's catchy and beautiful. You can hear some of their songs in the feature film "My Life With Morrissey", including my favorite, which plays during the end credits.

Remember how you felt after hearing Autour De Lucie's self-titled first release? You laughed, you cried, you stared blankly at the wall wondering how someone could come up with such wonderful music. It wasn't till the second or third listening that you realized you didn't understand a damn thing because they were singing in French. Well now you can have those same great feelings and you don't have to sing along phonically! This is a fantastic album and it's in English! Buy it and stare blankly at a wall.

Aberdeen x3,

Well, anyway, all three bands called "aberdeen" are lumped together here at Amazon (3 different bands, 3 different styles, 3 different cities--San Francisco, Kansas City and New York City). If you wondered why one release didn't sound like the others, there's a very good reason for it. If you are a fan of the twee band Aberdeen from San Francisco (that's affiliated with the Trembling Blue Stars), and enjoyed Fran, Byron, Toy Tambourine, etc., then you'll love this CD. If not, well, you're really missing out, so give it a try.

This CD rocks!! I heard of this wonderful band through one of my favorite shows, Buffy the vampire slayer. This CD just blew me away! Great music and wonderful lyrics make "Homesick & Happy to be here" a winner. My fav. songs are "Cloud like these","Cities & Buses", "In my sleep" and "That cave...That moon". Do not miss out if you are music fan!
