5.0 out of 5 stars Special Edition indeed, June 22, 2010
This review is from: Homesick [Special Edition] (MP3 Download)
I first reviewed For those who have heart. I loved that album so much that i gave it five stars. Now this one deserves 5 also. Now I feel that FTWHH showed off their metalcore styling. This one steps in more of the spotlight spectrum of pop mosh, their self proclaimed genre. This album shows off a lot of their punkish side while still keeping the heavy breakdowns. I don't feel like reviewing every song on the album because I loved all of them.
The Downfall of us all is a great starter track and is really a fun track to listen to
NJ legion iced tea, I love this one so much because it is so catchy and upbeat. It still has the heaviness in the verses with the guitar but it is definitly punkish.
Mr. Highway's thinking about the end, Definitly the heaviest song on the track. The first time ADTR has gone out of drop c tuning for their guitars. This song is the heavyweight of the album and carries the heaviness throughout. The Breakdowns are crushing.
Have faith in me. This is maybe the most pop punkish song on the album but it is still a great track.
Homesick: Love this one so much
Another song about the weekend
I love how Jeremy mentions florida in this one as Ocala shares a special spot in their hearts. I love florida too so this one really hit home.
If it means a lot to you
This is the lightest song on the album but i love how they changed it up into acoustic pop then kicking in the distortion. The Female vocalist is a nice addition and they guys nailed it. The acoustic songs on this album are both very nice too.
The DVD has so many features it's not even funny.
The live portion is awesome.
the two other features on the disc, the making of homesick which chronicles the making of the album in a spoof sort've way where they all act like jerks to each other but in hilarious ways. I lauged so hard during this.
then the other feature where it shows them on the road has the same kind of humor. Not as funny as the making of homesick but still cool to see them in real live concert shots at warped tour.
Overall this is an excellent album and I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Valule, December 7, 2009
This review is from: Homesick [Special Edition] (MP3 Download)
This pack is a great value over the normal or old special editions of this album. It comes with the CD obviously, a DVD with an entire live recording from Switzerland recently, 2 music videos with the-making-of videos for each, and a lot more. The album also comes with a 52 pg. book with lyrics, pictures of the band, pictures of fan tattoos, etc. Overall, this is a great value of you are an ADTR fan that wants more than the normal album has to offer-and trust me, you are getting a lot more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Stuff, April 8, 2010
This review is from: Homesick [Special Edition] (MP3 Download)
Homesick is quite an interesting band. I got a hold of their first song "Downfall of us All" and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed with them. Rock doesn't quite describe them. It's a little bit of everything. There's definitely some screamo in it- which necessarily isn't a bad thing. I normally can't tolerate scream-o but how Homesick does it they pull it off well. It's a mix of scream-o, punk, and rock. Some songs I recommend to those pondering about buying this album are Downfall of us All, If it means a lot to you (which is REALLY good and it is more towards Pop instead of their normal stuff which is amazing), and Homesick (Original or Acoustic)
