5.0 out of 5 stars Well-written and Useful Introduction/Review of Physics, December 18, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Homework Helpers: Physics (Homework Helpers (Career Press)) (Paperback)
One of the reasons I bought this physics study aid was because I read Mr. Curran's "Homework Helpers-Chemistry" and found it to be an excellent help in my pursuit to learn Chemistry. The author once again has hit a homerun with his physics book. Concepts from the classical areas of physics (Newtonian mechanics, electricity, magnetism, light, thermodynamics)covered in a first-year course in high school or college are explained in a conversational style while retaining appropriate rigor. The chapter tests are well-written (with the answers to test questions explained), and the interspersed diagrams help to reinforce topics covered in each chapter. I'm glad I came across both of these books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Homework Helper-Physics, July 30, 2010

The book arrived within a week and is helping me greatly prepare for the CSET science exam. Another excellent resourse is the Homework Helper-Chemistry. I recommend either of these books for anyone taking physics or chemistry at the high school, college level or someone like me preparing for a test. The Homework Helper assists me when I don't quite get the concept from the text book. Great resource. There are some questions that are given to help one understand and then the answers are just a few pages away.

Have used to help communicate messages and problems to kids in school. Well outlined and has data needed. Added with other sources, provides kids with solid understanding of physics applications.

This book has helped me to understand physics in easier terms, and it's also a great reference to review for exams.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very easy to understand (BUT, one small error...), February 13, 2011
This review is from: Homework Helpers: Physics (Homework Helpers (Career Press)) (Paperback)
I'm also using to study from, and I find it very simple, step-by-step, and clear. Just watch out-the centripetal formulas (p.160) should show T^2 as the denominator, not T! But besides that little foible, highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Physics book review, May 27, 2008

This is a good review of the basics of physics. I'm also reading the Chemistry, Biology, and Calculus versions of this series. They all seem pretty good so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars great, December 8, 2011
This review is from: Homework Helpers: Physics (Homework Helpers (Career Press)) (Paperback)
I bought this book a while ago for my college physics class and it helped greatly. Now I'm using it again for my radiologic physic classes, though it doesn't have everything needed for radiology, it explains a lot of other concepts needed thoroughly and has been a great help this semester.

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked it, January 6, 2009
This review is from: Homework Helpers: Physics (Homework Helpers (Career Press)) (Paperback)
I personally liked this book, and will use in the future with my children. But when I bought it I did not realize it was high school physics and we are not there yet. I would not recommend this for someone until they learn the math first. I would not recommend using this book to teach the math, it would be better for extra practice, or to break down and develop a better understanding of physics.
