5.0 out of 5 stars Good!
I have read many long, complex books on studying and study tips. Soon after using the complicated methods, I stumbled across this book. It was refreshingly simple and effective without any sort of complicated methods. A good reminder for the overwhelmed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute concept, but a little too silly for my taste
Overall, I like the concept of this book; The homework tips are great, and it is written in a catchy, funny way to make it entertaining for kids. My only complaint is that some of the jokes are a bit over the top- a bit too silly/ immature kind of humor. I am a school counselor and I was hoping to read it to students in my organizational skills groups, but there are a...

5.0 out of 5 stars A sure way to get kids laughing about their homework blues!, July 22, 1997

Anyone who teaches kids 3rd grade and up will want to read this book out loud at the beginning of school! This is also a great book to loan to parents of those kids---a nice way to give parents some suggestions when they say, "How can I get my child to do their homework?"

5.0 out of 5 stars Witty and helpful, May 5, 2001

This book is a sure way to get children laughing their way through homework. The meaningful jokes (by meaningful I mean that they are almost subliminally coaxing kids to do homework) are miracles. This writing style should be used more often! If the author comes out with other informative, witty and adorable books, I will be the first customer!

This book is with out a dout the 2nd best book I have ever read! No offense to the author, but I loved The Diary Of A Killer Cat by Anne Frank. I think this book was not only for teachers, adults, counslers. I think this book would be most entertaining to students like me. I am a student and I read this book every night before I go to bed. I'd give this book 6 STARS!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Book I've Read!!!, June 12, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: How to Do Homework Without Throwing Up (Laugh And Learn) (Paperback)
Nobody likes homework these days. I can say not even I do. Well the book I read was How to Do Your Homework Without Throwing Up by Trevor Romian. The book was all about homework obviously, it also explains why it's good for you, the purpose of homework, and why it helps us in school. It also explains to you the emotions and feelings you might get when you're doing your homework. People might get sad, confused, frustrated etc. Then you have to think they didn't come up with homework just to bug us.

I like this book because it's exciting and it's something I'm interested in. It's easy to connect in a way, because at times when I'm doing my homework I do get confused and think that homework is there for no reason and as your reading the book you can compare yourself to the book in several ways. I would recommend this book to people who like funny books but also books that you can connect to. If you like books that teach you a lesson in life, and what homework is good for, read this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT book!, March 14, 2007
This review is from: How to Do Homework Without Throwing Up (Laugh And Learn) (Paperback)
My 11 year old son rolled his eyes when I handed him this book. I came back a half an hour later and he had finished it! He was so excited and told me so many things on how he can do his homework better. He said it was very funny also. He learned a lot and really enjoyed the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A spoonful of laughter, December 16, 2006
This review is from: How to Do Homework Without Throwing Up (Laugh And Learn) (Paperback)
You know the phrase, "A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down." Well, this book gives a spoonful of laughter to help the homework "go down" without "throwing up." The clever use of artwork and text really gets kids involved in getting the job done instead of spending so much time complaining. There are many practical ideas and they are presented in a highly motivational way. I suggest reading it with children and discussing it rather than just handing them the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars On their level, November 5, 2003

This review is from: How to Do Homework Without Throwing Up (Laugh And Learn) (Paperback)
The author really knows how to get down to the child's level as he presents his ideas. Children enjoy taking his advice. It is a big help. Sometimes the resistance is the biggest issue. Sometimes not knowing how to do the work is a big issue which the child denies. This book helps children feel like trying and asking for help when needed. Another book that does this for the K-3 children is Little Lemon by Betsy Lee. I didn't see a place for recommending a book in addition to this one so I thought I'd mention it in the review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick, Funny & Helpful, December 20, 2005

This review is from: How to Do Homework Without Throwing Up (Laugh And Learn) (Paperback)
This is a super quick read book, loads of laughs, and I think it really gives kids a different perspective on homework. The gist of the book is that you have to do the homework no matter what, so just do it. The book just says this in a funny way though. Great for my 4th grade son who hates homework.

I like this book very much. It provides insights on how to make kids happy and productive in doing homework. Its humorous writing makes my daughter and me laugh! The ideas are simple and effective. Kids are motivated to do better when their homework is recognized widely.

A friend of mine referred me to a nice Houston community web site http://www.beestar.org. It provides free daily math exercises with weekly honor roll. My daughter likes it very much. She has been doing math online without any push since I signed up her last semester.
