5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD!
Homme Sans Racines is a great CD. "Plus d'importance" is really catchy, and "Paradis" is perfectly bittersweet.

I have to disagree with the French being clear, however. His pronunciation is a bit bizarre sometimes. For example, he very definitely says "Je ne seras plus... un homme sans racines" ("seras" is not the correct form of the verb), but that's just the...

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but doesn't sound original
I like this type of music. However, as the saying says "the original is almost always better than the copy". This applies also to this CD, namely Rock Voisin is better.

I have to disagree with the French being clear, however. His pronunciation is a bit bizarre sometimes. For example, he very definitely says "Je ne seras plus... un homme sans racines" ("seras" is not the correct form of the verb), but that's just the French major in me speaking. Despite some pronunciation weirdness, it's a great CD. I highly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent introduction to French country/rock, June 17, 2005
This review is from: Un Homme Sans Racines (Audio CD)
I bought this CD at the Virgin Megastore in Paris after my French host family recommended it and I am very pleased with it. De Palmas has a great voice and great acoustics. He is a more serious and mature version of bands like Kyo. The French is clear, and relatively simple -- a great help if you're just learning the language. Most importantly, the songs are consistently good and I have felt no need to skip any. The only mediocre piece on the CD is "Silverado," which I find nice but slightly anomalous and cheap-sounding. Otherwise, all the other songs are excellent and can be played over and over again.

Tres bien fait!

5.0 out of 5 stars love love love, September 20, 2005

I absolutely love de palmas, even better than roch voisin (and I love roch voisin) he's got this voice that brings you in and even if you don't speak the language u love it. My bf loves listening to him even though he doesn't understand a word he is saying. My biggest regret is that I passed up an opportunity to see him live.
