5.0 out of 5 stars A great book, November 11, 2010

This review is from: Homology (Classics in Mathematics) (Paperback)
I should admit first that I haven't finished this book. My research demands prevented me from giving it the attention it deserved. However, the third or so of it that I did read was the clearest and most insightful presentation I've yet seen of homology. I've had no particular trouble understanding homology from books I'd read before, however this book stands out in particular for demystifying a lot of things in homology, showing how seemingly abstract and sophisticated ideas are actually extremely simple ones. The advantage of course is that then attention can be focused on the parts that really are complicated without getting bogged down in what is only apparently complex. I'd highly recommend this book even if you've already gotten a command of the subject from one of the more abstract introductions.
