I purchased one of theses and immediately thought... how can I make it go faster? While checking the voltage at the motor I found that the battery puts out 18v, but only 12v makes it to the motor...soooo I by-passed the speed controller with a second push button switch mounted on the right handlebar so that when you want a full 18v you can get it....WHAT A DIFFERENCE !!! My 8 year old son gets close to 20 mph out of it now..which goes to show how well this is thought out...you can even customize it. I weigh close to 190lbs and I have rode it and the doesn't even flinch....even with my weight and the mods we still reach 15mph....I wonder why minimoto doesn't sell a modified version?? If you get one ...trust me ....you won't be dissapointed!!I work for Honda of Canada Mfg and when I took it to work with me every one thought it was the neatest thing they had ever seen.

I sent this to my kids from Amazon.Com while still in Iraq. I get home and look it over. Nothing about the front forks was even at all. I can't even ajust them to come out straight. The rear tire lost air, and that's a whole other nightmare. The valve stem is buried behind pieces even after the tire is removed. ToysRUS won't take it because it's past the window. Amazon and Honda won't touch it because my family never sent in the registration. Last but not least, it NEVER went the 10MPH stated.

We are a young family of 5 and we've bought many bikes, scooters and ride-in kiddie cars, but never as cool as this one. Everyone from our neighborhood was watching my 8 y/o boy easily master riding this ultra-cool motorcycle for kids. It is the most durable and well-built item I've ever bought for my kids and now my younger two sons want one as well! The coolest thing about it for me and my wife is that it has keys we can take away if it rains and actually has a registration certificate. Thank you Toy Quest for a good toy and making my boy's 8th birthday a motoring success!

My 5 year old son absolutley loves his mini motor- but we've had some problems with it. After only 4 weeks, one day it just wouldn't start- we called Toy Quest using the 800# in the manual, and had to leave a message- when no one called back after a few days, I tried emailing them, and again, no response back- Finally, after bypassing their telephone message system, I was able to talk to some one, who told me that they were having problems with the "computer" of the mini motor, and that they would send us out a new "black box" asap. We expected it to arrive in 7-10 business days , and after 2 weeks and many calls later, I was finally told that all the parts for the mini motor came from overseas, and that they were waiting for a shipment of parts, but couldn't tell me exactly when they would be in...we still don't have it, and its been a while..., so, yes, my son LOVES this toy,and if I had to buy it again, I would, but I would spend the extra money and get the Toys R Us service plan, so that you can bring it back to them if something happens, and they give you a new one...Its a fun toy, but get the service plan!!!

I bought this for my 4yr old boy. He cannot ride a bicycle so you could imagine my fear of a motorcycle. After 3 days of riding it he has no problem putting his feet on the pegs and taking off. I am going to buy another one for myself just so I can keep up with him. I am a motorcycle enthusiast and to be able to ride around with my son and share a similar interest is the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you Manley for such a great toy. My son likes it too.

My husband and I bought this for our 4 year old daughter's birthday and she rides every night!!!We would highly recommend this to everyone with a little one that loves motorcycles.
FYI: It is also possible to put training wheels on it:)

I bought this for my son last year for X-mas. He was able to ride it 3 times, after that, it won't take a charge. The fastest it went might have been 5 miles an hour. It looks good but not worth the money. Now it sits in my garage, not sure what to do with it.

We bought the Honda mini moto for my son for Christmas and after only a few hours of riding time on the bike got to the point where it wouldn't pull him, it would just quit going. The battery still had full charge and it would run when you lifted up the back end but not with weight on it. I tried to contact mini moto for a week and was finally able to leave a voice mail to contact me. A couple of days went by and no response from the company, so I sent an email, again several days went by with no response. I took the bike back to the store and bought the Razor PR200 pocket bike. There is no comparison to the quality from the Razor to the Mini moto...too much to list. Take my advise buy the Razor PR200 instead of the Honda Mini moto. Now my son is happy with his bike. P.S. the Razor is much faster than the Mini moto.

This is a really fun too..... HOWEVER.... Beware!!!! I have read over a dozen reviews on this and the consist theme is "THIS IS A PIECE OF JUNK!!!". The electrical system works about as long as Thomas Edison's first light bulb. Actually, our Mini-NO-GO lasted about 4 hours. It died, my son cried, and Honda could care less. Check the internet for other reviews and see for yourself. Don't waste your money - you too will be very disappointed.

You might try using generic bicycle training wheels from any bike shop or even Walmart, etc. Be sure to get good quality training wheels (metal mounts and rubber not plastic wheels) and mount them securely to the rear axle bolts.

FYI.. if this item does not work out for you, you might try the Razor Pocket Rocket. It goes faster (up to actual of 17 mph with 60-80 pound rider) and seems to be build better. That is what we have and we have customize it with accessories - lights, saftey flag, loud horn, speedometer, etc. Good luck!
