The manual provided valuable information on troubleshooting points. Eventhough I don't carry out any of the repair works myself, I will relate the possible causes of my car problem to my mechanic, just to ensure he doesn't start repairing other unrelated components. Anyway it will be best if we can have a complete manual for Honda CR-V only, where I believe the troubleshooting list will be more comprehensive.

I have purchased Haynes manuals before. I have happily used them as a quick-reference supplement to more comprehensive repair manuals. This manual contains useful information, photos and instruction on maintenance and repair. However, this time, Haynes tried to cover too many models for manual this size. The Integra, Civic and the CRV do share the same basic engine and other components. They also have differences and not all of those are covered. This manual should have been at least twice as thick. Then it would be more expensive. This is the first Haynes I have been disappointed with. I still use it though.

Even though some of the information is a little long and sometimes a small bit cryptic, the information is short, sweet, and to the point. Everything you'll ever need to keep you Honda running smooth on your own.

I bought this manual for a Honda Cr-V. The manual is written to cover the Civic, Acura Integra, Civic, and CR-V since they presumably share a lot of common parts.

In short, it tries to cover all models, and doesn't work very well for the CR-V.

Example: I used the manual for a timing belt replacement. This manual doesn't even cover the engine that is in the 1997 CRV. The timing belt replacement section in the manual is for a single Over Head Valve (OHV) engine. The CRV has a dual OHV engine, so doesn't give you good instructions on how to perform this task.

I would find another manual that is specific to the CR-V.

it has so much information, I rarely take my car to the mechanic, for what the book cost, I have saved over hundreds of DOLLAR$! No joke.
