I just finished installing these crossbars on my 2010 Odyssey. It is Honda OEM and very good quality.

The instructions that came with it are awful and the video that Honda has on YouTube is misleading at best.

First the video shows the Honda tech removing the front roof rack cover but on the 2010 you need to remove the rear. The written instructions do not say which. I found this out the hard way. I assume different years, 2005-2010, are different.

Second, these end covers are not easy to remove. In the video, the tech has a special tool in his hand that he inserts to slide the cover off to the rear. Unless you have that tool, or something similar, you need to use a screwdriver which will leave a mark on the roof rack and end cover.

Finally, the bolts they provide require a star shape bit. If you don't have this, you will need to find a screwdriver that will fit as a substitute.

If the installation was as easy as advertised I would rate it a five. But...

Decided to get these so that the roof rack could actually be used on my 2009 Odyssey. Rather than struggling trying to install it, let the dealer do it for $54. Good strategy is to find the Honda parts, accessories on the internet then let the dealer install them as the dealers typically mark stuff up like this by 20-40 percent.

Product was exactly what I needed to attach a cargo carrier to the van. Installation was a breeze and took less then 30 mins. Note the product does not include installation instructions but you can simply go to the Honda website and download/print them.

This is genuine Honda part.
Before I install it, I saw people were complaining not easy to remove the cover. When I tried it myself, I followed the instructure to use a screw driver to go inside the small hole to push in the pin inside. Then I tried to slide off the cover. For the first 5 mins or so, I tried but it did not move. Then I tried a move not shown in the video. I rocked it while trying to pull to slide it off. And it suddendly came off.
So I think the tick to slide the cover off is to rock it hard while trying to pull it off.

I wanted to purchase the OEM Honda crossbars because I wanted them to look like they matched the roof rails on the car. These do that, but the installation was very difficult due to the fact that you had to get the back cover of the roof rails off in order to slide the crossbars on the rails. You are supposed to be able to push in a tab and slide the cover off the rail, but both of mine were stuck and I ended up having to pry the bottom of the cover out of the roof gasket in order to be able to slide the cover off. Once that was done, the installation of the crossbars is easy. Non-OEM crossbars that sit on top of the roof rails and lock in around them might be a better way to go.

Crossbars arrived promptly and were exactly what they were advertised to be. I was able to quickly remove the covers due to the helpful tips mentioned in several of the Amazon reviews. We've used our cartop carrier on two multistate trips, and the crossbars have stayed perfectly in place without loosening a bit. We keep the crossbars on permanently (we don't remove them when we take off the car carrier) and we haven't noticed any additional wind noise (perhaps that's because the Odyssey has a lot of cabin noise already - something I hadn't paid attention to when buying our minivan).

I don't know whether the less expensive, non-OEM bars would be equally as good, but these were just what we were hoping they would be.

Great quality genuine Honda crossbars. Installation was very easy. And I'm surprised how quiet they are on the road during driving.

Good quality, solid build. The roof rail end caps was tricky to remove as a lot of people said online, but the trick is to have the right tool - I wore a pair of latex glove for better grip, then use a L-shape hex wrench to push into the hole, and a plastic scraper to push/slide the cap. Works well without issue - both caps come off in less than 1 minute effort. The only problem I encounter was - the crossbars were curve a bit too much, thus shortening the bar length and causes the screw holes to be mis-align. Didn't want to take a chance at cross-threading the screw holes, I used two brick pieces in a plastic bin to load down the bar in the middle so that the holes will now align up for installation. Other than that - everything went well and looks great after the installation is complete.
