This is a lovely Honegger album. Played beautifully. The rarely recorded Concertino for Piano and Orch. is here; it is unjustly neglected by pianists. It is a masterpiece of taste and refinement. The conductor has done a fine job of maintaining the balances in the 4th Symphony. The Honegger 4th is a different Honegger from the powerful 2nd, 3rd and 5th Symphonies. It is full of light, with a hint of Asian influences.
