This is a great product. It is all natural and really is chocked full of good healthy fruits and vegetables. My little toy poodle will soon be nine years old. I want her around just as long as possible and this particular food is going to help me do that.

Thank you

My dogs don't like it plain, but eat it very well when it's mixed with other things--I mixed it with venison, oatmeal, rice, veggies, eggs. Using with pregnant picky dog

I like this dog food, but I find that it isn't substantial enough so I add in another brand's frozen raw patty. If I just feed my little Yorkie plain Honest Kitchen, even at the recommended amount for her weight, she ends up being starving a few hours later. Adding in some other kind of raw "beefs" up the Honest Kitchen and satisfies her hunger and I know that she is getting really good nutrition.

First off, I got small $1 samples of this Embark and Preference foods from the Honest Kitchen before I bought a bigger box.
I wanted to make sure my dog actually liked this food before spending more money than necessary.

Then, after mixing the samples and seeing that my dog actually liked the food, I got this bigger box of Embark.
I really just wanted to mix this with his kibble as a topper not as a stand alone food.
He definitely likes licking this food and eating his kibble more than he did before (I feed him Wellness Core). He actually gets excited when he hears the microwave heating Embark and waits by his bowl for me to mix it with his kibble.

This food is definitely different from anything I've seen. It is like a powder you mix with warm water to make a type of oatmeal-like mixture. Before mixing, it sort of smells like soup mix. I make the whole box (4 ounce trial) and refrigerate it for the week. This trial lasts about a week but that's because I mix about 1 tablespoon at each feeding. If you have a smaller dog, this trial might last longer (my dog is 70 pounds).

In regards to his poop, he has always suffered from soft stools even though I have fed him good quality food. After starting this food, his stools have become harder and smaller. Definitely easier to pick up!

I suggest anyone wanting to try this food to get this trial or the smaller sample from Honest Kitchen before getting a bigger box. You definitely don't want to spend a whole lot on this food and find that your dog doesn't like it.
And keep in mind, it might look like a yucky mess to you but to your dog it might look like a glorious meal.

I also recommend Preference, which does not have any dehydrated meat, so you can add your own meat and if desired, mix it with the kibble you're feeding.
