I bought this program for my nephew who is a 5th grader. he was asking me to buy him a game console, but I thought this program would be fun and educational at the same time. However, he was not really into it initially, and I thought he might be too young to use this program. But I decided to show him what this program can do. I followed the instructions in the Quick Start Guide, and I set up a webcam and shot a few frames with his toys. I used his favorite wrestling toys and made a very short movie. After seeing the silly wrestling movie that I made, he wanted to try it himself. I visited him again about two weeks later, and I found out that he made about a dozen stop motion videos of his own. He's been bragging about his movies to his friends everyday, and now he and his friends are making their own movies together.

I am new to the creation of animation. I have always been interested in claymation but was unsure how it came together. This product is user-friendly and intuitive. As I created simple animations I began to understand the product more. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone interested in claymation.

This product isn't beefy in the features department by any means, but it does have just the right amount of features for the price. I still wonder how well it will animate a rather long video, but I have yet the patients to create one.

Overall a great product for the price. I would strongly recommend owning a webcam for capture though, or if you have a little more budget a video camera hooked into your Firewire port would be best (Just more pricey and over-the-top for those younger animators out there).

I'd recommend this to parents who have kids that show creativity and maybe play to many video games. Get them involved in projects like this that encourage productivity with real rewards!

Disappointed in the general lack of instructions on how to use the software. There is a PDF file that describes the general functions of the keys, but there is absolutely no kind of how to guide or demo with step by step instructions on how to create a stop motion film. Had to go to You Tube to get simple instructions on how to use the product.

I was wanting to learn a little about animation. From the info on the Claymation Studio I thought this might be a nice alternative. It says you can create characters using a digital camera, webcam etc. but I could not figure out how to use the program, add the images with my digital camera or anything else associated with the program. I tried going on the Honestech website and still could not find any user instructions. This is the first time that I have bought something on Amazon.com that is absolutely useless to me.

I got this with high hopes,but after using it I fond that it has little help in how to use it. Not only that but its frame rate is vary poor and tends to make my cameras pic's grainy. It is VERY limiting,and after a year of using it and i still have not been able to find out how to use the rotoscope or chroma key. Very disappointing.

I received this item in good condition, I cant comment on the software itself, since i have yet to use it, my product never came with the registration key, so I was never able to install it.

this program is a great value -- perfect for your first stop motion software. you can always 'trade up' to a more pricey / higher functionality software down the road, but this is the place to start.

Arrived in time and in good condition, I think. It was a gift and I have heard nothing bad, so I assume it was fine.
