This is a handy product, but be prepaid to hang in over a door that does not have to be open or shut during the night as it tends to clang enough to wake others up. It can be screwed into the door, if you don't mind putting screw holes in your door, but even then it clangs when moved. I just received my "Honey-Can-Do BRD-01350 Premium Over-the-Door Put-Away Ironing Board with Pad and Cover" hoping to free up floor space in my bathroom, but it doesn't look like that's going to be happening anytime soon, at least not with this product anyway.

First of all, I'm not sure if there is anything about the ironing board that should be considered "premium" - maybe the 100% cotton cover? The board is very flimsy when opened and when I tried ironing on it, it bounced up and down and side-to-side, all the while banging on my door making quite a thump. It might not bounce that much for someone who is not in a hurry to iron or prefers to take their time, but I've been ironing on a daily basis for many years and like to get mine done and over with as quick as possible, but not on a board that feels like it's dancing to the "music" that's it making on the back of my door.

Second, the over-the-door brackets are not the same as the ones in the photo. The ones that came with mine are shorter and would fit nice and snug/secure on any 2-inch thick door. They do not fit securely on any of my "standard" 1 3/8-inch thick doors. After placing the ironing board frame on the brackets, the brackets tilt at an angle and I'm not able to shut my door at all. I would have to screw the brackets into the door in order to close it, which also means that the ironing board can only have one permanent location in the home - important details not mentioned in the item description.

And last, but not least, the clanging/banging of the board whenever you open or close the door that the board is hanging on - as mentioned in the previous review, which by the way, was not posted at the time I purchased mine or else I would have noted the bracket/screw issue, as well as the clanging/banging issue. The ironing board should have come with "cushion bumpers" to place between your door and the ironing board frame when it's closed and not in use.

They've got the right idea with this space-saving product, but really need to improve upon its quality and bracket design.

Unfortunately, I'll be returning mine tomorrow for a full refund from Amazon in hopes of finding another better quality over-the-door ironing board.

It can be screwed into the door, if you don't mind putting screw holes in your door, but even then it clangs when moved. One thing that might help is if the board were designed to snap onto the holder and with a couple of rubber stops at the back of the hanger so it might not bang.

I have mine hanging on my closet door. It feels a little bit flimsy but has held up for months so far. I like that it is functional yet easy to put up and out of view quickly. The board is large enough to iron blouses or slacks, with a little maneuvering.

It works as advertised.
I docked it a star because it is just a bit wobbly- not really solidly sturdy feeling.

My husband and I wanted to get rid of the space taking standard ironing board; this fit the bill to a t! It does need to be secured at the bottom so that it doesn't "flop" around. I would definitely recommend this product:)

2.0 out of 5 stars use only in emergencies!, August 19, 2009

i shared a dorm with 3 roommates, and we used this thing quite a bit. it got the job done, but with much a hassle.

1) there was a HARD PLASTIC BUMP right in the middle of the board under the ironing fabric. that hard plastic bump was the clip that held the ironing board in place. if you ironed over that hard plastic bump, you'd get this nasty little sheen on your clothes. i hated that!

2) the board was so flimsy, you may as well have bought it from a 99-cent store. every time i used it i almost felt like i was gonna break it (mind you, i take pretty good care of other people's possessions - i'm not wantonly destructive).

3) pulling the board out and putting it back were not as easy as it could be. you'd have to try really hard not to get hit when the board came down because pulling the board out required a good bit of effort.

all i can say is, i'm not using that thing again!

1.0 out of 5 stars missing part, August 16, 2009

I recieved the ironing board any was unable to use it because the over the door hooks were not in the package. I tried contact the manufacturer and keep getting a answering machine. I then attempted to send it back to Amazon and was informed by UPS that the cost of shipping would be $10.00 more the the product cost. I was able to find hooks that would allow me to use the ironing board for $2.49 but I find it very flimsy.

Poor quality and does not feel stable at all. Should have known better than to buy an over the door ironing board. The concept sounds good but they are just not stable and it wobbles while ironing. Not a good invention or product.

I HAVE HAD ONE OF THESE FOR YEARS AND I HAD TO ORDER ONE FOR MY NEIGHBOR. SHE HAS ALWAYS HAD THE REGULAR ONE AND DIDN'T LIKE IT. EVERYTIME SHE CAME OVER SHE'D SAY SHE WANTED ONE LIKE MINE, WELL, NOW SHE HAS ONE. IT'S THE BEST IRONING BOARD I'VE EVER HAD. I'D NEVER GET ANY OTHER KIND.

I needed an always accessible ironing board for my sewing room. This works well enough. If I were ironing clothes it wouldn't be that great. It does bounce when you iron but is fairly sturdy if you put it on a closed door. Mine was damaged around the hinge when it arrived. I did not contact amazon for a replacement. For $20 it hardly seemed worth the effort. Instead, my husband bought a rod and ran it through both hinges. It was a higher quality fix than what the product shipped with. I've had this for months and use it for quilting and mending. It's not as nice as a quality stand ironing board, but I'm satisfied with it.
