Just what I needed - but don't rush the assembly,

I just recently moved to a new city and am temporarily renting a room that doesn't have a closet. Not wanting to spend the money on a wardrobe but desperately needing a place to hang my clothes for a while, I decided to go with a garment rack. After pouring over reviews for all of Amazon's semi-inexpensive options, I decided to go with this one, and have been very pleased with the choice.
I've had it for about three weeks now, and have found it to be very sturdy, easily accessible, and decent looking. It can fit a surprising amount, too - I have about 30 items on each rod. The slight lips on the end of the hanging bars and side-braces have also proved useful for draping a few scarfs, necklaces, and purses for easy access. The key, as another reviewer mentioned, is to make sure you don't rush the assembly - make sure every piece is locked in very tightly. The instructions say that use of a rubber mallet is optional, but I would *definitely* use one (or just a regular hammer with a towel to buffer) to make sure all the metal rods are in as far as possible into the plastic brackets. Be sure, too, to make sure you have the sides level -- the height adjustability is nice, but there are no level markers or "clicks", so you have to just eyeball each side until you get them even. My only other complaint would be that there's no shelf on the bottom -- just two black rods (the photo is a little deceiving), so I don't have anywhere to put my shoes. (And I didn't install the wheels, so I can't speak to how sturdy those are.) All in all, a good purchase, and I'd definitely recommend it. Should be pretty easy to take apart and transport easily when I'm ready to move, too.

Poor design, cheap parts,

A nightmare of cheap design! Bought this product, put together as per instructions. First it fell over. All right, lower the bars. The braces didn't hold the bars at the right height very well, but we gave it a shot. It fell over. Feeling like we were in some kind of Monty Python skit, we tried again. THAT time twisted itself around, dropped a bar... and then fell over. We'd come home to find it slanting against the wall again, stubbornly refusing to stand on its own.
It needs a central crossbar to hold it together, there's nothing keeping the thing even. In fact, there's precious little keeping it upright! (There's a reason the picture only has it holding three items.) We tried bracing it with ropes, which held the thing together lengthwise... the designer had no concept of torsion. None. Holding it together lengthwise meant that the thing had to fall apart some other way- it found one, because THEN the cheap plastic connectors-which will turn at the slightest chance, dropping the bars- cracked, spilling the bars out and the contents onto the floor. It's unrepairable, of course. I wish I'd read the reviews prior to buying, this has been a hideous waste of time.

Nice but not real sturdy,

Plastic parts at connections cracked. Like the rack but wish the connection points had been made of metal so the rack would be sturdier. Had to lower both sides to the lowest level and glue bottom connectors so rack would stay together. Went out and bought another rack for longer garments.

I purchased this cart so that my wife could hang cloths from the dryer and then push the cart any place where she setup the ironing board. It is nice cart for the price however be aware that the only thing that hold the two ends to the middle is friction. Hence the cart is wobbles. If you are up for it you can drill and secure the ends with machine screws to help with the wobble factor. Overall it is a nice cart for the price.

After loading the clothes, I started to roll it into place. The whole thing began swaying, the bars tilted sideways, the base cracked and everything fell in the floor. Wish the ratings stars went backwards into the negative side.

I was running out of space in my closet since I am sharing it with my boyfriend. Garment is sturdy and holds a lot of clothing. So far so good. I love it!

Must be assembled correctly - but this is not very hard to do.
Must tighten the clips. Works perfectly. Very useful.

The product looks nice, but not durable. One broke at the base of the unit within 3 days of use. I assume because of the heavy coats on the lower rack. I put a new rack up and removed the heavy coats. The new front right wheel unit broke off. Not sure of the reason. The base unit allowed the rack unit to lean so I lowered the racks almost to the lowest points. The problem with these units appears to be base related. Good for light clothes, but do not expect too much.

Flimsy but holds a lot,

We used this as a temporary solution when my husband and I moved in together and needed closet space. The two racks can hold a large amount of clothing, but you need to be careful to balance the weight on each side equally or the whole thing topples. The latch on one post wouldn't stay closed, which caused that corner to slip down and the clothing to bunch and wrinkle.
Overall, this was fine for the few months we used it for, but I wouldn't recommend it as a long term solution.

First time this ever happened from an order placed with Amazon.com.
The package arrived on time -- but had 4 missing bars, so it was basically missing 20% of total contents. Buyer beware... |
