4.0 out of 5 stars Great bang for your buck.
I had previously purchased another expandable shoe rack from a different store, and it was so flimsy it actually broke while putting it together (so I'm not really sure how it was to hold multiple pairs of shoes). This item though is sturdy, streamline and holds a lot of shoes. Though I'm using it at its full width, the fact that you can make it variable widths is nice...

3.0 out of 5 stars It's ok
It's OK. The length-wise size adjustment is nice. Not the best materials and not nice looking but cheap and it works. Not tall enough to put boots on the bottom rack. It's not bad, it's not awesome, but it's cheap and will do the trick if it's all you can afford.

I had previously purchased another expandable shoe rack from a different store, and it was so flimsy it actually broke while putting it together (so I'm not really sure how it was to hold multiple pairs of shoes). This item though is sturdy, streamline and holds a lot of shoes. Though I'm using it at its full width, the fact that you can make it variable widths is nice as well. I would recommend this for anyone looking for an inexpensive, practical way to store shoes. The only drawback I would say is that some flats with smooth bottoms tend to slide forward off the rack; I put small pieces of felt on the front rung for texture and that worked fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars No frills but fits the bill, March 24, 2009

I ordered this shoe rack after extensive research online and at local stores. For the price, I don't think it can be beat. The cheapest comparable rack I saw offered at the local Ikea was around $40.

It was pretty easy to set up, though the smaller caps didn't seem to fit at first - you just have to force them on. Expands and contracts as advertised and holds its form fine. Lightweight, so it can be moved easily when not loaded with shoes, and won't dig into your floor given the protective caps.

The only thing I wish it had was some grip to the rails because shoes tend to slide off. I find if you put any shoes that have a heel on the rack facing "backwards" as shown in the photo here, they stay on better. I may be adding some grippy tape to this rack to enhance its function for flats.

Final verdict: well worth the $15.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little shoe rack, March 11, 2009
This rack expands out to twice it's length, and you can fit shoes underneath it - so it ends up holding GOBS of shoes. Great for a front hallway. When extended out to it's max, it's easily 4.5-5 feet long. Easy to put together and a total front hall saver!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for boots as well, January 6, 2009
Honey-Can-Do SHO-01170 Two-Tier Expandable Shoe Rack, Chrome
This rack is exactly what we needed near the door. Easy to assemble and sturdy, it keeps boots out of the way and expands when extra room is required.

5.0 out of 5 stars For those who want to have a stand for 10 pair of shoes, March 30, 2011

This is one of the worthiest products I've purchased. Some of my review points

- Nominal Price
- White color will be suitable for most of the wall colors
- Very easy to assemble. You dont need any manuals to do it
- Can comfortably place 4 + 4 pair shoes or 5 in a row with a litle adjustment
- As this is for placing in your floor, you can also place 4 or 5 pair underneath the racks
- As I purchased with free shipping in Amazon, the price was really challenging compared to get this in any store

I have 14 pairs of shoes on this rack in my closet!
Despite what other reviewers said, I had no trouble getting them (from sandals to clogs) to stay on.
The "feet", which were, apparently difficult to put on, arrived installed.
I give this four stars only because it could be a bit more sturdy, but am pleased with the purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars great shoe rack for the price, September 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've had this shoe rack for over a year with no problems. I could see how one could have problems with big/heavy men's boots, but for heels, booties, etc it does the job! It definitely works better for shoes that have at least a small heel so they can catch on the back bar. Flats work too, but involve a slight balancing act. I even keep my boots on the top rack- and have not had any problems with too much weight on the bars as some others have mentioned.

Love it, it holds SO MANY shoes.

Looks really nice, very simple and clean design.

Surprisingly strong, despite being fully extended and completely over-loaded with shoes. It doesn't sag in the middle, like I'd expected it would. Very happy with purchase.

Will buy again.
