So far these bags are holding the seal, but when they first arrived I was shocked at how small they were. If these are supposed to be medium and large, I cannot imagine what the manufacturer expects you to put in a small. I was only able to put two (2) regular pillows in the large, when I was hoping to store a comforter. It would have been helpful if the description had included the dimensions instead of what I perceive as misleading generic terms such as medium and large. Hence I will include dimensions here. The actual storage area of the large is 20" x 27" and the medium is 16" x 17".

I'm pleased to have come across this item. I bought a few bags including a couple of the "other", to compare for myself. My conclusions: quality is a noticeably better upon first impression...bag feels sturdier, screw on cap vs "pop-on;" price is most certainly better, yet the previously mentioned problems with these bags are the same. I did find a leak...nevertheless, at least I didn't pay twice as much as I might have if I bought the "other." Honey-Can-Do is definitely a better offer.... By the way, I did notice a marked vacuum improvement using my hand-vac, vs upright...both which have 12amps of power. Probably, because I use handvac less regularly...for stairs and such.

Not a bad item, it actually worked very well. It certainly saves you space. And let's face it, that's the most important thing when you buy these. However, there are a few things that are not all that great; the cap meant to close the air lock when you turn off the vacuum stinks. There are a few seconds when air is certain to leak out because you need make a switch from vacuum tube to the cap. Even when you frantically twist on the cap as fast as you can, you are going to lose that tight vacuum seal. That could have been better, perhaps with a snap on cap for fast closure. Also, the sizing is fairly small and you can't fit much in the bag. It only occurred to me after the fact that no dimensions were disclosed in the description it just says "medium" and "large". In order to fit anything big, you'd probably need the XL size which is sold seperately. That aside, I'd probably get these again, they were much better quality than the brand you see sold at major stores.

I purchased these bags to use for storing my maternity and newborn clothes. In was hesitant based on the mixed reviews but am very glad in ordered them. They are a little confusing to understand at first, as I couldn't figure out the cap, it said to remove the cap and then turn the valve. There is a POP OFF cap on the top of the twist valve that I couldnt quite find. Once I figured that out they were very easy. Here is what I did:
1. Put my clothes into the bags and then put the bags inside the storage bins I was planning to store them in. Then arranged the clothes so they would fit in the bins. 2. Twisted the valve and used vacuum ( dyson) I found that I needed to open the valve a little more than what was recommended on the instructions once I had the vacuum turned on. 3. Here is the part that some reviewers were having issue with, WITH THE VACUUM STILL ON, turn the valve to close it, then turn off vacuum. No air lost that way. Them simply replace the pop cap. 4. I added another bag on top of that bag in my storage container and repeated twice more to have 3 flat bags of clothes in one storage container. Love these bags!

Did as promised. I know that others were upset by the size, but It met my expectations. The extra large are the best buy for the money! I pack away clothing that my kids have out grown. It really saves quite a bit of space.

I got these to go on a trip. They really helped with saving space in my bags. I had no problem with leaks, but you have to make certain that you closed the top securely. I listened for any air and when I heard it, I re-closed the top of the bag and vacuumed again. Had no problem and saved me SO much money!

I don't know how I managed to live without these bags, I recently moved, & I found that the best thing was to leave summer linen & clothes in these, & they store anywhere. So convenient, I'm not worried about putting my things in the basement, or garage, just make sure they are closed securely. I'm not having a problem with storing things in big bulky totes, actually placed some bags inside of totes to store certain things indefinitely. Some items were left in bags alone, & they're fine. Love the way they minimize space. Great idea!!!

It is too wonderful when you travel for shopping... I think that shop too much and where you put everything? The luggage will not close. That's the solution!!!

I had tried these space bags years ago and they leaked and did not hold the vacuum...But I thought, ok, it has been several years now, certainly they have improved the product...wrong!!...within 30 minutes of putting my sweaters in a bag for the summer, the vacuum was gone...I would not recommend these type bags at all, they are simply not worth the money...

These work beautifully! The plastic is heavy duty so no rips. Easy to vacuum air out of bag, and if you make sure to replace the cap correctly, the air does not leak out!
Although I wonder just how wrinkled the items will be when I eventually use them, they will be worth ironing because of the saved space! And, I HATE ironing! |
