This is a collapsible bookcase, but not just like the flimsy ones of old. This is an excellent well made, well presented piece of furniture that we are delighted to have in our living room, with some of our best books. An excellent buy. Thanks.

Mission style bookcase (14") was perfect fit for a tight spot. Solid wood, well made, opens with no assembly (just glue in screw plugs on side). Useful piece. Have two - one in natural one in mahagony. Recommend the optional mantle top, adds a nice finish toit and another shelf/top. Would recommend this piece for all aspects.

I was looking for a book shelf that would fit perfectly in a spot I needed to store books, nic-nacs, etc. and this was just what I was hoping to find. It's very good quality. Not a cheap piece that most stores sell. The only thing was the color was more of a cherry, but it ended up matching another cabinet I have in this room.
Love it and would recommend it highly.

First, we know that these types of pieces are made in China or someplace like that and that quality is not always very good. But in this case, this shelf unit looks VERY nice and the quality is not really that bad. You will pay less for something of the same style at a local discount store, but I've not seen this level of quality in my local discount store. I was very much surprised.

The item was well-packed and shipped with no problems. It's some type of foreign wood but it has a nice grain and you can tell it's real wood.

So if you need a shelf like this, then get this one. I also got the matching top shelf and it too was very nice.

I got the Honey Oak (mantle & bookcase). What a pleasure to just take this out of the box without anything to put together. It's very well made, and I just love the color. I'm thinking of purchasing another one now for my office (and I probably will). I have no reservations in recommending this to anyone.

Delivered very quickly - easy set up - no putting together necessary. Quite sturdy and attractive.

I ordered two bookcases hoping they would fit side by side in a small indent behind the door. They did. Next, I loaded them (really loaded them) with books. No sags or wobbles. The set-up was easy as well. No pieces that don't fit, etc. or tools to use, just unfold and use. The cases are exactly as advertised. I'm really happy with them, so much so I plan to order more to stack.

I really like the color and style of these bookcases. However, the holes do not line up for stacking the book cases on top of each other, or for putting the cover on top. Really really annoying. I'm sure someone could probably drill holes to make this work, but I'm not at all handy, which is why I bought this kind of bookcase.

These folding bookcases are the best ever. I have now purchased four and love them. They look great, are well constructed, and are so easy to move around. I will never buy any other kind of bookcase after having these.

Let me echo Robert and say "not just like the flimsy ones of old." These are TERRIFIC pieces. I'm in a temporary living situation needing to solve a storage problem. Rather than order something that might not be useful in the future, I figured a good portable bookcase would be perfect (always in need of more bookcases!) I am so impressed with these that when I have the cash (and the energy to move books) I'll probably replace the full-size press-board bookcases I have. Having paid to move recently, I doubt I'll ever use any shelving but folding bookcases again - not when you can get ones that look this good and are so flexible (stacked or not, good "mantle" for top, etc.)

First let me say these are really, really well and carefully packed. Take it from an army brat whose family moved 27 times in 24 years. From the inside out: the brackets that hold the shelves have corrugated cardboard over them; the back struts are wrapped in paper; the bookcase is then wrapped in foam packing wrap that is secured with packing straps; then they are DOUBLE boxed, and additional cardboard is added to all the corners. Impressive care.

NOTE: My storage problem at the moment is not books, but "stuff." The bottom two shelves of an unstacked unit nicely holds 3 fabric "drawers" that are 10.5" square at the base and 11" high. If units were stacked I think the middle area where they join would also fit the cubes, but not the top shelf under the "mantle" (assuming you buy a mantle for the top.) Be careful about shipping costs for the Closet Maid drawers though: for the ones that ship from Ace instead of Amazon, shipping doubled the cost. For Amazon I'm not sure - I have Prime and these are prime eligible - but I doubt it would be as much.
