The Many Uses of Honey,

This book has interesting information most people may not be aware of. The author, a beekeeper himself, is very knowledgeable and presents many ideas, some of which are backed by scientific studies. In simple, readable style, he includes everything from the history of honey to practical uses. Sections on the composition, types of honey, health benefits, therapeutic use for different conditions, health and beauty uses, are very informative. The chapter on The Joy of Honey includes toxic and gourmet honeys and other products of bees, how to buy and store honey, and most of all, a few honey recipes. A long list of resources are given at the end of the book.

Had I not first seen this book advertised in Science News, a peer-reviewed periodical published under the auspices of AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science), I would probably not had considered this as anything more than another "fake science" book. I was pleasantly surprised.
The author presents interesting ideas developed in interesting ways, with some reasonably well done scientific work to back up his positions. Worth the time and thought it takes to read.

This book is well organized and easy to use. It is a great hand book size, so you can read it straight thru or use it as a reference. It addresses several ailments such as burns, hangovers and even cancer. It dispells a few myths and tells you how you can store your honey. I found it to be very helpful in my efforts to find natural alternatives for treating my family.
