4.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous art of some VERY bizarre fantasies
Let me first qualify my rating of this book: this is straightforward fantasy smut. There isn't enough story to hang your hat on here, just a progression of erotic fantasies portrayed for your prurient interest. It has just slightly more narrative than a Penthouse pictorial.

So, given that, how does it succeed at what it's trying to be? Quite well, actually...

3.0 out of 5 stars Better Than His Other Work
Being this was from the same guy who brought us the Banana Games series, I was unnderstandably leery about this. But all in all it was very good. It is about a shemale who arrives on a college campus and begins having her way with just about anything that moves. Unlike the Banana Games series, which focsued on stomach-churning brutality, this one was all about the sex...

This review is from: The Honey Lickers Sorority: Vol. 1 (v. 1) (Paperback)

Quite well, actually.

The main draw for this book (no pun intended) is the nearly photorealistic artwork, which is some of the most gorgeous I've ever seen in a comic. It has the same level of detail as, say, Greg Land, but with a lot more expression and emotion in the characters -- this artist obviously knows how to actually draw people, and not just copy photographs of models. You won't find too many comics, erotic or otherwise, with this level of production values in the artwork.

The subject matter of the story is even kinkier than the title suggests. The protagonist, Tammy Ford, is a transsexual -- something that the publisher seems to be very keen on NOT telling people before they buy it, which strikes me as false advertising. Tammy used to be Timmy, but she went away for some unspecified adventures during the summer and returned as a bombshell blonde with a phallus of ludicrous proportions. (Indeed, her tackle seems to vary in size depending on what the artist needs at a given point in the story -- but, hey, if you're going to buy a book like this, is that REALLY going to sour you on it?) She also seems to have some sort of odd pheromonal powers, because she's able to get just about anybody she wants to have sex with her, from a jock who used to pick on Timmy to the dean of the university. Eventually she and some of her friends decide to start a sorority so they can get unlimited access to sex whenever they want it -- not that Tammy is having any trouble with that, anyway.

If you like your sex in the straight vanilla hetero flavor, this is NOT the book for you. Without delving into lurid details, let's just say that there is ... erm ... a lot of variety here. It's all portrayed very well from a technical standpoint, but there's a good chance you'll find SOMETHING here that squicks you unless you are truly an anything-goes pansexual.

The book is obviously a set-up for future volumes, but the publisher's website hasn't made any announcements yet about them. Zanier seems to put out a new book every 9-12 months, so it's likely the series will continue in the fall of 2008. Maybe volume 2 will have a bit more story, now that the "sorority" of the title is in place -- but I wouldn't expect too much on that front...

It is about a shemale who arrives on a college campus and begins having her way with just about anything that moves. Unlike the Banana Games series, which focsued on stomach-churning brutality, this one was all about the sex. My one complaint was that the shemale had pierced her member, something that made me wince every time I saw it. But other than that, it was good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wow! But I know in real life that wouldn't happen, October 8, 2010

Its about a young rich woman name Tammy who is enrolled in the college of Illinois. But what people don't know about her is that she is really a big breasted, long dong, shemale. She first makes her attempts on this jock who has no idea who she really is until its too late and on two college girls who strangely seem to be into her. Then to screw with the whole college she creates her own sorority wanting to have her way with other college women.

I really like this work because the color and drawing is really good. It brings strong sex appeal, that is if you are either kinky or open minded with this type of thing. I think the only thing I have negative thoughts about this book is if you like reading it as well as looking at the pictures, then you are going to be terribly disappointed. There are words but they are mostly words you would hear during orgasms. Anything else this book is looking only. And thats even worse because once you flip through the pages you realize the book is shorter than you think. Overall I enjoyed this book and it made me want to order the second one right then and there.

2.0 out of 5 stars All style and little substance!, August 10, 2010

This review is from: The Honey Lickers Sorority: Vol. 1 (v. 1) (Paperback)
I wasn't quite sure what to expect going into this graphic novel. I knew about the "secret" of the main character, but little else. I was familiar with author Christian Zanier from some of his other, non-adult themed works, so I took a chance on this one.

If I could use one sentence to sum up the book it would be this: All style and little substance! We are introduced to Tammy (formerly Timmy), as we follow their sexual expoilts at college and how they start a sorority devoted to the sexually perverse. That's about it, as far as any story. And be forewarned, unless you are of the "anything goes" mind on sex, you will no doubt find something here that will offend you. There were a few scenes that made me uncomfortable, but I have the suspicion that is exactly what the author was going for.

Reading it gave me the same feeling I get, when I walk into a movie that's halfway over. We are introduced to characters, but get no context for why they are there. There are little references to things, which we are never made privy to. I know that a book like this is not usually read with the pretext of expecting deep storytelling, but this fails to provide even a modicum of what is needed simply to create an understandable story. Tammy/Timmy gets some sexual revenge on a guy who bullied them in the past, but we have no context on those events, so there's no resonance to the revenge we see being done, which hinders the overall impact of the scene.

As far as the art goes, it is very well-crafted. This photo-realistic way that some artists do comic art today is a hit-or-miss proposition with me, as many of them are not well-versed enough in the use of it to make it look right. Zanier is not one of those. This use of the effect is polished and professional. The art is really the area that the book shines.

Overall, despite how beautifully rendered the artwork is, I'd have to call this book a failure. While it might be commonplace to not expect much of a plot in "porn," you also need to have enough of it to make a complete story. This one does not. Perhaps future volumes will fill-in the missing information this one is lacking, to provide the right amount of context to the tale, but taking this book on its own merits, it just doesn't get there. Unless you are looking for some stroking material, you probably should pass on this, until more volumes are available.

5.0 out of 5 stars I expected nothing less, April 14, 2010

Very good artwork and VERY hot sex! I loved it becuase there's no sexual line that can't be crossed. I'm a big fan of the Banana Games series so I was looking for a bit more depth to the story, but overall I have no complaints. Highly recommended for those who love no-holes barred transgendered action.

Firstly, I would have given this at least two stars for drawing & production quality alone, but I felt it was necessary to make this review stand out by only giving it one star. So the real rating is two stars: one for the fact that it is ALL COLOR, which is not often the norm for comic book porn, and one star for the draftsmanship, which is excellent.

It loses any other stars since the rest of the work is compromised because it is entirely composed of *SHE-MALE CR@P!*

If you're an hermaphrodite or a closet homosexual who can't admit to him/herself your true sexual orientation, fine, buy this & be happy. Me, I think that full disclosure should be made in the product description & in all reviews to prevent anyone who doesn't swing that way from making the mistake of purchasing this.

Forewarned is like having an extra pair of arms!

Drawings were great, excellent colors & attention to detail, as for the rest, story etc. I felt I was missing the back story even though this is vol. 1 there should have been another one before this one. But colors where great & it lived up to its x-rayed ranking.
