4.0 out of 5 stars Good honey but shipping needs help
The product itself is wonderful. However, 3 out of the six jars that we ordered leaked all over the place during shipping. After looking closer, we realized that the product seal was broken.

1.0 out of 5 stars You know how some organic tastes GREAT, and some... not so much
I am a HUGE fan of honey, I've never found a (or thought there existed) honey that tasted bad. This honey is absolutely atrocious. It tastes like somehow it sat out far too long and soured.. of course this is honey so it's not possible, it's just the natural taste of the honey. Like the bees took it straight from ivy and bark.
I most commonly use honey for my tea in...

5.0 out of 5 stars Rainforest Honey is a great idea!, December 14, 2007

Honey production is good for the rainforest. This kind of low-impact use is something that we need to support! I use this honey for sweetening almost anything that I used to sweeten with sugar. For a 6 pack of Organic Honey this is a deal! I paid $8 for one bottle of organic honey the last time that I bought it.

I love honey and I often buy expensive gourmet types. I decided to try this one because "rain forest" sounded unusual and also because it is labeled organic. This honey met my best expectations, it has very nice texture and aroma to it. For this price, I couldn't believe it, it does taste like a gourmet honey. I disagree with one of the previous comments. This honey's taste is NOT overbearing at all. Good quality honey should have a distinct flavor (that's what sets apart honeys coming from different areas and flower types) and that easily recognizable flavor is what is valued in each type of honey.

Very good tasting honey, at a very good price. This is the honey I use for baking and adding to hot tea. I prefer to use raw honey for anything that is not going to be cooked or heated to a high temp.

For several years, I've been purchasing local honey from my local Natural Food Coop. Unfortunately, as the years have passed, not only has the price gone up but they have moved away from the unusual and toward more generic "let's please everyone" products. The local honey, star thistle, that I preferred, has a wonderful strong, earthy flavor to it and I've been missing it. Orange blossom honey is just, well, just sweet.

This honey--Honey Tree's Organic Rainforest Honey has that nice strong, earthy, flavor that I have been missing. To me, honey is not just a sweetener but a flavor to add wherever I want. If I want just a sweetener, Splenda is just fine.

Truthfully, I purchased this honey because of the price. I wish that it were available as a Subscribe & Save, but, regardless, I will be purchasing it on a regular basis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good honey + They changed packing., January 5, 2009
This review is from: HoneyTree's Organic Rainforest Honey, 16-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I ordered 2 boxes (to meet the free shipping criteria) of this honey from amazon. The honey is good in taste and quality. I was a bit skeptical about ordering honey online after reading reviews from other users regarding the poor packing and how their honey spilled over. Guess what - now they have an extra seal under the cap of each and every bottle! So even if the cap is broken the honey wont spill. The honey tastes good. Goes perfectly well as a sweetener for my green tea. Also I thought it would be worth mentioning that the bottles do not have any expiry date (best before date) specified on them - this is unlike the highly processed honey you get in the super stores.

This is the best honey I have ever bought. (.) Although this is also the least viscous one too. I never knew we could pour it so easily.
I have tried BusyBee's too and that tastes great too, but in my opinion Rainforest is better.

I most commonly use honey for my tea in the morning and the rancid portion of this honey is so overwhelming that it ruins the tea, so I tried using it for cooking thinking that would be better, so I baked banana bread with it, after it came out of the oven I couldn't even taste the banana, the honey completely overpowered everything else.
Now I'm stuck with five unopened bottles of this useless honey, what now?

Good Honey, But bottles leaked inside box during shipment. Be careful if you order this, the packaging isn't great and the bottles are subject to leaking during transport.
