5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! Great variety that appeals to everyone!, October 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Seen a Ghost (Audio CD)
I used to live in Minnesota where they played the Honeydogs quite a bit on 104.1, the Point. Now I'm living in Central Illinois where I'm lucky if I can even get a Dave Matthews Band tune out of the local DJ's. I'm really glad I bought this CD before I moved. It's a must-have!

4.0 out of 5 stars Catchy stuff, Highly recommended, September 13, 2004
This review is from: Seen a Ghost (Audio CD)
This album is real catchy. The vast majority of the songs 'work' with only a couple of flat songs.

Throw the late 80s/early 90s Minneapolis sound (Replacements, Gear Daddies, Jayhawks, Soul Asylum, Run Westy Run) into a blender with Wilco and the mid-period Beatles. The result is the sound of this album.

There are no soaring or poignant moments on this album. If you are looking for catharsis or beauty or an uplifting experience, this album doesn't 'do that'.

But as I said before, this stuff is darn catchy and a real good listen. And you gotta like an album that contains a song that asks the all-important question:

"Who shot the cherub?"

It wasn't me.

This album is full classic rock tunes that will steal your heart away. It's all so deeply written and the instrumental flows just right. The album is a love song in the making.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Mix of Rock and Country, April 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Seen a Ghost (Audio CD)
The Honeydogs can do anything. From driving Rock like "Rumour Has It" and "I Miss You" to the Country shuffles of "Mainline" and "Those Things are Hers." If you enjoy any of these styles you will like this album. And I'm sure you will hear of them soon.

I got a sample of their Seen a Ghost album for free, and I listened to "I Miss You" about 10 times a day... I'd never heard of the guys, but now, they're one of my favorite bands.

5.0 out of 5 stars You may not have heard of them yet, but you should., September 19, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Honeydogs (Audio CD)
The Honeydogs are one of the many rock and roll bands who aren't yet as well known as they should be. This, their first release, could go a long way in rectifying that. With well crafted songs, singer/songwriter Adam Levy and band display equal capabilities on straight-up rockers like "What I Want" to the ballad "Can I Change Your Mind?" I don't know the name of the woman that broke Adam's heart, but I thank her for providing the muse for some great pop songs.

4.0 out of 5 stars ON-THE-ROAD GREATS, November 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Seen a Ghost (Audio CD)
I first bought this CD after hearing their independent releases. It is now a must have when I travel. I have dubbed it my "Official North Carolina/Tennessee driving soundtrack. "Into Thin Air" is my favourite tune followed closely by "Sans Sucre".
