Why not be prepared in case of a fire by placing your important documents and computer back-up devices in the Honeywell model 2037W 1/2 hour fire rated, waterproof file chest? The 2037W is conveniently sized to store letter sized hanging folders and includes a detachable wheel base. The 2037W is a UL listed media protection device tested to withstand an external temperature up to 1550 degrees for 1/2 hour. Most residential fires last less than 30 minutes so the 2037W is a good choice for a small document and electronic media protection solution. In addition to the UL testing, the 2037W has also been independently verified to protect electronic media, such as memory sticks, CD’s, DVD’s and external hard drives, in a fire. The independently verified waterproof seal on the 2037W enables the chest to float during a flood, making it easy to locate, as well as providing protection from the flood water. The 2037W is secured by a clamping style latch with key lock. All Honeywell fire rated products are covered by a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty and will be replaced free of charge if damaged in a fire.

This is a great product. Lots of room to store our valuables and no need to pay the annual fee to the bank any longer to rent a safe deposit box. I had some concern when reading about the problems that some had with Amazon's shipping. Our experience was wonderful. It came within one week (under the free shipping option) across country with no damage to the item or box at all. Amazon's shipping and UPS' handling of the item were exceptional, I have ordered many items from Amazon and will definitely continue. Kudos to Amazon!!!

I bought this model fire safe after reading several reviews of less-expensive brands available at local "superstores." This safe is well worth the extra money. The construction quality is excellent, the latch mechanism works very nicely, and it seals up tightly when the latch is closed. I strongly recommend buying the optional wheeled stand. This safe would be hard to move around without them, but is very convenient to move around on the wheels. You can put the stand together with only a screwdriver and a wrench (even pliers if you don't have a wrench,) and the stand is custom-sized to fit the safe. Hanging file folders fit right in with no problems, and make this safe easy to organize. I am very happy with this fire safe.

Every home should have one of these -- not only to keep your important documents and other valuables safe from fire and water, but to keep them organized in one place! We often use this as a wedding present, as it is something almost nobody else thinks of.

This is a very well-designed and built file safe. Because it is very heavy, the wheeled version is a great advantage.
