I thought a bad solenoid was the problem with my Honeywell humidifier. It wasn't. A hard water deposit had plugged a the pinhole sized inlet on the fitting that goes into my solenoid. Once I turned off the power and water, remove the water line and the inlet fitting; I cleaned out the pinhole and the little black screen inside the silver fitting and could blow through it. Put it all back together and the solenoid was was working like a champ again. It is awesome that this solenoid is available here, just make sure that that is really the problem first. I fixed mine for $0.00.

When my Honeywell central humidifier continued to flow water even when turned off, Honeywell customer service helped me to troubleshoot it, with the result we concluded that the solenoid valve needed to be replaced. Honeywell gave me the part number to order and even a link to the Amazon listing. After checking other sources for the same valve, it became apparent that Amazon had the best price and delivery, so I placed the order. The item was delivered earlier than projected and installed easily.

I have hard water and after 8 years, the solenoid stopped working. I cleaned out the filter but the solenoid was stuck in the open position. Although this part was a newer version, it fit perfectly, had it installed in a few minutes and was working perfectly right away. Great price and was delivered in 2-3 days. Thanks!!!

Does what it was supposed to do however be aware of the below points. This is not truly a Honeywell part# 32001876-001 even though the product description (poor description & picture IMO) says it is. I'll define what I feel an authenticate part gives you:

- line filter (as mentioned in previous reviews)
- wiring harness (so you don't have to splice into the existing factory wiring - note the purple wiring and wire nuts in this product picture)
- instructions that were placed into box that appear to come from a personal printer
- instructions that tell you to tighten certain parts (shouldn't factory parts come tightened properly? - I had to tighten mine)

For the true Honeywell part see http://electronicaircleaners.com/32001876-001.aspx and https://www.alpinehomeair.com/viewproduct.cfm?productID=453060271 (you should be able to see all the things I mentioned in my bulleted list above)

All in all the part works and for the price you can balance what you feel is important to you.

The valve was described adequately so I knew which one I needed and was confident it would be the correct one. It arrived three days after I ordered it, and I used the cheapest shipping.
The valve looked a little different than the old one and had some extra wires on it that I did not need for my installation. It fit, however, just fine in the place where the old one went and worked as advertised. I just clipped off the wires and harness that I didn't need. It's pretty obvious which wires one would need to make it work.

I don't know if anyone will see this, but I wanted to help someone else.

My HE265A stopped working. I have two of them, so I swapped them, thereby determining it had to be the 32001876-001 solenoid. I took it apart, and cleaned out the small hole with a tiny wire. No luck. Then I worked at getting the solenoid itself apart, finally was able to turn the large screw by putting the housing in a vice. All ports were clear. So, I figured the magnet went bad, but wondered how that could be.

I didn't want to spend $65 on Amazon, so I resolved to remove the magnet from the housing to see if it had a part number. When I did it, I said to myself, let's prove that water goes through the pin hole, leaving that fitting on the water supply line. It didn't shoot water. I stuck the wire in with water on, and water sprayed out. Removed the wire, no water. Did it repeatedly, no luck. Remove it, banged it on a table and a few very tiny pieces came out, likely sediment (no water filter or filter parts that I saw). Now, it works.

When your humidifier stops working it's usually the solenoid is clogged or inoperable. There's a screen on the inlet side of the solenoid. Turn of the water supply and take off the compression nut and use a small bent wire to remove the screen. I knew my solenoid was bad because I didn't hear the solenoid click when the blower was running.I stopped at a large plumbing and HVAC supply house in New Jersey to order a new one for my Honeywell HE360A humidifier. I was doing a fall tune-up on my furnace so I asked for a humidifier pad too. They didn't have a new water panel in stock so I figured that I'd check on line. Exact same part and $33 dollars less. Simple install and I ordered a new water panel and a current sensing relay to replace the sail switch for the same amount of money that I would have spent for the solenoid alone. I might have waited a little longer due to shipping but when I can save money, I feel it's worth it.

Product was easy to hook up. Worked great with no problems. Still working great over a year later and on second winter.
