5.0 out of 5 stars Pre-Filter Fits All Honeywell HEPA Air Cleaners
I follow the manufacturer's recommendation to change the pre-filter every 3 months on all my Honeywell Air Cleaners with HEPA filters. These replacement filters come boxed in a set of two. The pre-filter simply wraps around the round HEPA filter, which is inside the unit, and attaches to itself by means of two velcro fasteners. It takes less than five minutes to change...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not "by Honeywell"
Under the Amazon title are the words "by Honeywell". No. What I received was not "by Honeywell". It might be just as good. It might even be better. But, it is not "by Honeywell". One thing I noticed is the filter does not have the pre-cut lines for easy fitting to my particular air filter. It also seems denser which may make it pass through less air. Nice...

5.0 out of 5 stars Pre-Filter Fits All Honeywell HEPA Air Cleaners, March 17, 2001

This review is from: Honeywell 38002 Enviracare Universal Replacement Pre-Filter (Kitchen)
It takes less than five minutes to change the pre-filter. In between changes, I vacuum my pre-filters to remove accumulated dust and pet hair from them. These pre-filters do help to remove some odors from rooms, especially if you are able to keep the space enclosed where you have the air cleaner running.

Be sure to keep a box or two of these pre-filters on hand in case they become back ordered. The HEPA filter needs to be changed in 1-3 years, depending on conditions where it is located.

5.0 out of 5 stars Universal Pre-Filter, April 18, 2003

This filter is larger (taller) than it needs to be for most machines. You simply trim the filter (and it's got pre-made perforations) to the height of your machine. And yes, this means that if you have one of the smaller machines, one which is less than half the height of the pre-filter, you might get two pre-filters for the price of one. Bonus.

Nice price, but I would have gone to Home Depot and bought the real thing had I only known the truth. So, be careful ordering from these Amazon merchants.

1.0 out of 5 stars Immitation, January 14, 2011

Beware these are immitation filters, not Honeywell. They are not perforated for easy cutting and are not as loaded with charcoal as the original. This is deceptive marketing.

I'd recommend getting the Honeywell version over the cheaper imitations, so as such, this receives my highest rating. It comes with good installation instructions, and getting it out of the box and onto your Hepa filter is a breeze, so if you're in the market for one of these suckers (which if you're like me, means you're in the market every 3 months), then grab it, it's cheap and you can count on the quality since it's made by Honeywell.

They will not send you a Honeywell filter. These filters that I just received from Amazon are from a different manufacturer. This is a classic case of bait and switch. In legal terms, we call it FRAUD. The item appears as though it is of comparable quality. But it is clearly not a Honeywell brand product. If you are purchasing this based on your confidence in the Honeywell brand you will be disappointed; because you will not get the item that you pay for.

1.0 out of 5 stars False advertising!, April 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Honeywell 38002 Enviracare Universal Replacement Pre-Filter (Kitchen)
This product is NOT a Honeywell product. The listing portrays it in the original honeywell box (see the posted pictures right up front) but this is NOT what you get. You will get generic filters that are not even close to the original ones. When I emailed a complaint I was given my money back but the company has not changed their false advertising. I have never had an issue with Amazon but now am not so sure I can trust them. I was emailed: "NEW CUSTOMERS PLEASE READ: BULKfilter has been selling generic filters at commercial bulk prices for over 8 years and has thousands of satisfied customers. 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEED - Money back. Velcro Strips ARE included. If you want Brand name filters, please look for a different listing..." and was told that this is stated on the Amazon site...the bottom line for me is that if you want to sell an imitation product be honest about it upfront and do not use marketing pictures other than your own. This is leading folks into believing they are getting something they are not and is dishonest.

1.0 out of 5 stars No-name substitute, February 22, 2009
This review is from: Honeywell 38002 Enviracare Universal Replacement Pre-Filter (Kitchen)
Ordered Honeywell 38002 pre-filters from Filter Savings, but got a no-name substitute from Allergy Asthma Technologies LTD instead even though invoice said Honeywell 38002 pre-filters. Substitute filters shed carbon and lack cutting lines that the Honeywell filters have. Feel ripped-off, will not deal with Filter Savings again.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's my choice in universal replacement pre-filters!, June 13, 2007

Changing my Enviracare pre-filter is one of the great pleasures of my life. Just knowing that we're not breathing in all that gunk makes it all worthwhile. Honeywell has a very low-tech solution to fitting this oversized filter: cutting it with a scissor. I would recommend trimming the filter material over a newspaper, as it can leave carbonaceous residue. Also, remove the old dirty filter inside a large garbage bag, as it's very easy to shake loose and spread around the dust and particulate crud you're trying to contain.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good filter product, only 1 per box, FYI, February 12, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Honeywell 38002 Enviracare Universal Replacement Pre-Filter (Kitchen)
An earlier review suggested there were two filters per box. This is not the case unless you have a small cleaner that only requires half the filter, thereby saving the other half for another use. Mine is one of those full size round models, and it required 80% of the one filter in the box.

It cut easily on the scored line, and went on well. I was hoping there would have been two per box based on the earlier review, but am still very satisfied with this product. Plus, ordering three put it in free shipping from Amazon.
