This Honeywell heater is a marvel--buy it, and buy yet another oil-filled Honeywell as I'm going to.

This is a great portable heater quickly warms up a medium size room.

I bought this radiator for the temperature feature to heat our small cabin on our sailboat. I thought you could set it to any temperature and it would maintain close to that temperatures. I found that you could only select one of four temps, 65, 70, 75, or 80 degrees. Oh well, I thought, 65 is fairly comfortable, so I set it to 65 and went to bed.

I woke in the night sweating like a pig and wondered what the deal was. Since it was the middle of the night, I just changed it to low. An hour later and I was still sweating, so I turned it off. In the morning I read the instructions and it appears that it never shuts off! The "energy saver" temperature setting only chooses between Hi or Low, it never shuts the unit off!!!

So I donated this one and bought a cheap non-temperature thermostat model that was on sale at the local store. At least it turns off completely when the room reaches the click set on the dial and I can experiment for the right temperature.

I previously purchased 2 others heaters for my oversized master bedroom. I returned both of them due to the heaters were insufficient for my over sized bedroom. The Honeywell energy smart heater is quite efficient and exceeded my expectations. It gets so warm that my husband sometimes asked me to lower the temperature.

Typically prefer manually controlled oil-filled radiators to maintain consistent and uniform heat. Older digital styles would not usually have user friendly interfaces and would eventually lose their backlight, etc making them difficult to read/ program.

Will only buy a digital style that is user friendly (plug & play), like this Honeywell EnergySmart Electric Radiator Whole Room Heater, model number: HZ-789.
Enjoy the touch/ programming feature, just press the time or the temperature you see, No up & down arrows/ keys! Reminds me of the terrific Lasko 6405 Designer Oscillating Ceramic Heater, stylish and easy to operate for on demand blower type heating. Can't really shop by brand only, with all these heaters, because different models are not always similar.

Cons:
-- the fins are the original thin style (exposed). Would look much better if the fins were squared off (enclosed), like many of the newer oil-filled electric radiators.
-You have to attached the roller wheels ( unlike other models/ brands, where the wheels are already attached to the unit, out of the box. But it's not rocket-science to put together.

Pros:
- The black color is excellent for this particular location: sleek & less marks, etc etc
- User Friendly: Very much Enjoying the touch/ programming features, just press the temperature you see, or time period, etc No extra up & down arrows/ keys!
- Accurate temperature control
- Heats up a 10 x15 room with 3 windows very well (even with no addtl heat sources= main thermostat shut off, during winter season) **Keep in mind the room also has insulation in the walls= R13 (Not very high, but not zero)

I purchased a Delonghi before this one. I've had a Delonghi EW7507EB for a couple of years and we love it. Great controls, works well, and quiet. So when we needed a second one, I found that the EW7507EB was not available so we bought a Delonghi EW7707CM instead. We were not happy with this one at all. Bad controls and it clicked loudly the whole time, so I returned it.

I decided to try out this Honeywell one. I'm very happy with this one. Its quiet, no clicks, easy to use controls.

Couple of considerations: the heating fins on the Honeywell are "exposed" so they get hot. (its heater after all) Our Delonghi EW7507EB has what are basically individual covers over each fin. The Delonghi EW7507EB is much less hot to the touch. Great for a kids room.

Secondly, you cannot set daily on and off times with the Honeywell. You can turn it on and set it to turn off after 2 to 12 hours (in increments of 2 hours).

It shows the room temp and the temp the unit is set. both in 5 degree increments.

I'd recommend the Honeywell, it works well. I'd honestly take another Delonghi EW7507EB first if it was available when I needed a second heater because of the fin design and the controls but the Honeywell is a good unit.

I own two of these and they're incredibly solid. They begin to heat the room up quickly and the built in thermostat makes it easy to be precise.

I am really pleased with the purchase of this. It warms a small to medium size room pretty fast and when it reaches the desired temperature it will go into a standby position which uses very little wattage. Another nice feature is that it has a 3 prong chord which is a safety feature...Most heaters have only a two prong chord. The only complaint is that the wheels aren't that great, but the rest is great quality...

I love that this makes no sound while running. At first I was concerned because my son decided to hep and 'unpacked' it while i was outside shoveling snow. I thought he had broke it, it is so quiet! But it works great as a backup heater for when the temperature drops :)

Used all winter. No complaints. Nice heat source. No malfunctions or problems and we have had it for quite awhile.
