I've owned this filter for about 2 years and have generally been quite pleased. It could be quieter, but hey, it's only a $50 filter. It does clean the air pretty well, judging by the filter. Some reviewers for Holmes products complain that they need to clean the unit. This unit stays very clean. Just a note however - when I purchased this two years ago, either my manual for the filter or the filter itself said to replace the filter every 3 months (I can't remember which). Since they were $60 each, I didn't do that and have replaced it about every 6 or 7 months. Well, I went to purchase a filter and they now say they last 1-3 YEARS with normal use. They have pre-filters that need to be changed every three months. This is a big money saver!

The picture is wrong, this is the smallest Enviracaire True HEPA air purifier.

I love that the air blows out the top instead of along the bottom. It does help with the air quallity but it won't remove all of the dust. I don't think there is anything that will.
Run quietly on low speed, very noisy on high.

I recommend this air filtration device. It is far more efficient than ionizing devices and there is no risk of harmful ozone.

Honeywell 51000 is a good value. HEPA filter cleans air thoroughly. The machine has 3 settings: Off, High and Low. On the low setting the machine is very quiet. On the high setting it moves so much air it can be used as a fan in some cases. The machine is smaller than most other round air purifiers and stands 14 inches high. I've run the machine maybe 2 days a week. I've had the original HEPA filter in the machine for 2 years and still haven't needed to replace it. Filters cost $30-70 each and are available.

5 stars says it all. Changing the pre-filter once every three monthes is kind of a pain. But other than that this thing works. We use it in the laundry room to cut down on dust in the basement.
