My 15 year old 4 speed oscillating fan stopped oscillating, so I decided to get a replacement. Wonder why they call it a "Turbo High Performance Fan"? Ever stood next to a turbo jet on take-off? Well, you get the idea. Even on its lowest setting it is louder than my old fan on its highest setting. On low, I had to blast up the TV volume. I am not returning this item only because it is throwing good money after bad--the cost of returning it. I will use it as a spare, load the old 12 gauge and wait for the neighbors to come breaking down the door.

The fan is surprisingly powerful for it's size, and provides excellent air flow to even a large room. Remains stable during operation...even on highest setting. Good value.

This item is described as "whisper quiet." Maybe compared to the roar of a lion. Or a window unit air conditioner. Not quiet for a small fan and certainly not "whisper quiet."

When this fan was marked down in price (way down), I thought I would be able to put up with a fan that was a little loud. Boy, was I wrong - this fan is so loud that I've never used it off the low setting. Even on low, I have to blast the TV to hear it over the fan. Yes, it's powerful and gives a good breeze - but if you have to be in the same room, I would plan on wearing ear plugs...

Thought I was getting a large and a small fan, since that is what was pictured. Only a large fan was sent. Fan was very, very loud, as other reviewers have said. I was hoping for the smaller fan, one of which I own, which was quiet.

The fan works fine, it cools the room. It's just a bit noisy. Next time I'd spend the extra money to get one that quieter.

As you can see, the description calls this an "oscillating" fan. However, the product manual is meant to be used with three different models of the same type of fan -- only the other two models oscillate. This model doesn't. On the other hand, the fan is really good for what it is. "False advertising" is too strong an indictment, but the advertising isn't quite all true, either.

I'm reading these reviews of LOUD FANS and laughing. Hey, people, it's got these plastic things that are wing shaped and they are moving really really fast in order to push a lot of air around the room to keep you cool! That makes noise!

Okay, sarcasm aside, I have to say that I'm not really understanding the complaints. I've owned a lot of fans in my time. I guess if I buy one that says "Turbo Force" on it, then I'm going to assume it's not going to be whisper quiet. But, it's not as if the fan whines or makes an obnoxious noise. It sounds like a fan!

So, how does it work? It blows. Air. The air moves about the room. It feels well constructed. I'm glad I bought it.

Amazingly, to me, I got a better price at Target on this and the smaller Honeywell fan. I was replacing a piece of junk Seville Classics oscillating tower fan I got from Costco about two months ago. That's what I get for buying an unfamiliar brand. I'm going with Honeywell and this fan model for simplicity and name recognition.

Still working well. I'm pretty happy with it. I use it during the winter to blow upward and circulate the warm air off the ceiling and the cold air off the floor. On low it provides a nice, white noise as well. Good buy.

We bought several of these fans to drown out noises at nighttime like traffic (and snoring) and they are wonderful. They pack a wallop and take up very little space.

i paid $17.99 on Friday sale for this fan and got it because of low price . it has good design and is small and powerful . i use it in my kitchen as exhaust fan . please keep in mind that it is not silent at all and not worth more than $20 .
