It has become apparent that the world of digital music is all about the add-ons, the delivery systems, from arm bands for running with an IPOD Nano to cables for attatching your MP3 player to your TV, Boaz, or stereo. Who would have thought that a successful business model could be developed to sell you the pieces of a stereo, ala carte?
This outdoor speaker is a pretty cool add-on. Solar power for the backyard party with music, barbecue, and cold beer. Good sound, a simple and sleek design, and the sound quality was excellent. I have tried this with a range of music, and at a variety of volumes. There is flexibility, in that other speakers can be used through the wireless transmission set-up.
It was easy to put together, and try out, for a guy like me who can barely tie his digital shoes. I like this add-on, it really adds value, and is a great way to get the music out of the player and outdoors.
Here is the key thing: when you buy add-ons, they are what they are designed for -- this is good sound for an outdoor party, and easy to use. Not something designed to be competitive with the highest of high quality speaker sound systems. Think gin and tonics, and good music on a soft August night. Not too loud, as the neighbors would be bothered. Pretty girls and dancing. For this kind of night, this is the right speaker.
