Want to read some fair dinkum Aussie literature?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Honk If You are Jesus (Imprint) (Paperback)
Peter Goldsworthy's book is one that defines Australian literature. Not only does he comment on cloning, he manages to challenge ideas of science and religion at the same time. He calls into question gender-relationships. He explores the meaning of family and mothering. He creates characters who are as unpredictably human as your neighbors. Values espoused by one turn out to be made tangible by another. Setting the whole ball rolling is the challenge to create a human clone from blood centuries old supposedly taken from the very cross from which Jesus was hung. I read Honk If You Are Jesus for an Australian Lit. and Film class I took while studying abroad in Queensland, Australia. The book itself is quite a trip! Happy reading!

This review is from: Honk If You are Jesus (Imprint) (Paperback)
An excellent book, which is both timely & controversial, that deals with the attempt to clone Jesus.
The book is about geneticists trying to locate and replicate the man who was Jesus, and bring him into the modern world. A Great read!

This review is from: Honk If You are Jesus (Imprint) (Paperback)
Honk If you are Jesus shows one person's pesimistic views on Christianity and on Jesus Christ in particular. This book looks at the idea of possibly clonning Jesus and as it is written in 1st person narration, bases itself apon one female gynaecologist's views on the topic. It is quit an interesting book which deals with a very controversial issue. If you are especially into DNA and genetics, this book will definately open your eyes.
