5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific Christmas album, December 21, 2000
This review is from: Honky Tonk Christmas (Audio CD)
This is truly a fun Christmas album...but then that's what you'd expect from Alan Jackson, who is known for his fun country songs. But that is not to say that there are no ballads here. "The Angels Cried" is a beautiful song about the night of Jesus' birth, and Alison Krauss duets with him on it. He even sings a song with The Chipmunks..."Santa's gonna come in a pickup truck", a song the kiddies will love, and is sure to become a favourite of theirs. He does a wonderful rendition of Merle Haggards "If we make it through December", and his own song "Merry Christmas to me", both pretty sad songs. If you're an Alan Jackson fan, you will for sure love this.
