Ten Million Candaians Can't Be Wrong,
By Old Slim "Expert" (Southern Minnesota) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Honky Tonk Sonatas (Audio CD)
McCoy is a big C&W star in Canada but hasn't crossed over to the American airwaves. This is too bad because he is better than about 9 out of 10 of the current hitmakers on American radio. This album is traditional but still quite modern. He covers some Jim Lauderdale and Buddy Miller songs, as well as his Bakersfield style original "Ten Million Teardrops", which is one heck of a good song. God bless Jason McCoy.

Honest Country from the CCMA's Male Vocalist of the Year,

Got hooked on Jason McCoy when my guy (Jay yep same name) heard "Bury My Heart" and thought it was Garth Brooks. Anyone who is compared to Garth Brooks must be doing something right! Jason McCoy lends his husky twang to gems like the shuffle "Ten Million Teardrops," mildly haunting "My Heart Has a Weakness," tender "I Will For You," sing-a-long "Kind of Like It's Love," the duet with Gary Allan "Doin' Time in Bakersfied"...a total of 12 fine songs and not one a fast-forward. Looking to more music from Mr. McCoy.

Good album, but not as good as his latest release,

After I've picked up Jason's latest album "Sins, Lies, and Angels", Ive decided to expand my interests to his previous works. I picked this CD up at a very reasonable price, and after listening to it, there is definately no regret. There are good tunes on this one, but I can really see noticable improvements he has made on his latest release. Don't get me wrong, if you want to listen to the more mellow country tunes, this is a good bet. But don't leave without picking up his newest album "Sins, Lies, and Angels"! I can only hope that more people out there can start realizing his talents.
