If you are somewhat new to photography and this is your first GOBO, note that you only get one flag, not two like in the picture! I just got mine today and was shocked to see the picture on the bag with one GOBO (that's the picture that should be on Amazon I guess).

I have been using Dave Honl's gobos since shortly after they became available. Same for his speed straps and snoots.

They are all top notch. Dave is a pro shooter, and these things are made to take the abuse that pro shooters dish out. The reversible black/white is a nice touch, and makes the gobo useful for lighting a background while flagging your subject.

They mount very securely with the speed straps, too.

I will upload a shot of a bicyclist made using two backlights flagged with these gobos shortly.

I don't know why I didn't read the other reviews more carefully before ordering, but I was yet another person disappointed that only one flag came per order. AMAZON & 17th St Photo: Please update the photo to help us rapid on-line shoppers. Otherwise, the single GOBO works well.

It's advertised as "Flag + bounce card" but it is not a good bounce card for a couple of reasons. First, when you attach it to your flash it tends to lean backward a little bit, therefore in order to get some light on the subject either you need to change the position of the flash to 75 (which is something I'm trying to avoid *by* using a bounce card in the first place) or you need to try to bend the card (which is impossible without damaging it).

I surprisingly realized that built-in bouncer of my Nikon SB-900 AF Speedlight Flash creates a softer light on the subjects I photographed while I was testing HonlPhoto Flag/Bounce Card. I don't really know what causes this unexpected result since the surface of this card is way bigger than built-in bouncer. Maybe coating on the surface was not the best choice, I really don't know.

Don't buy it if you need a soft light. You may go and buy a LumiQuest ProMax SoftBox for that purpose, it serves great.

It is definitely a good flag .. but what can possibly go wrong with a flag anyway.

These little guys are durable, the black/white surfaces offer versatility, and like everything Honl makes they are seemingly bulletproof. While $12 seems like a lot of money to a photographer on a budget (and in possession of lots of Corn Flakes boxes and a few rolls of duct/gaffers tape), these will be in your camera bag years after all those homemade jobs are rotting in landfills.

Highly recommended.

These cards are very handy to have. You can hide the flash-glare from your camera lens on your flash, resulting in a "cleaner" image.

If you can afford more than one, I'd recommend getting at least 4 so you can create a snoot out of them.

The reason for only 4 stars is that I had to take one star away, because these cards are sold as individuals only. Would LOVE to see multi-packs of two or four or eight as well, perhaps with a savings option when purchasing in quantity.

Otherwise, these cards do their job well.

Once I get a chance, I will post a picture of how to create the snoot with 4 cards. :)

You get only ONE flag not two as shown on the photo. And its WAY expensive for one flag to pay $14. The photo is deceiving and maybe intentionally done so and that is why I gave it 1 star.

Simple, effective, but overpriced. You could probably make one of these from Walmart materials in 15 minutes, for 25% of the cost.

I thought I was buying a set of these. When it arrived and I discovered you only get one flag for $20, I was shocked. There is not way I would pay that much for one flag if I had known in advance.

They are very useful though and work well. I will be making my own additional units however.

Very reasonably priced, and portability. Easily stores in any size bag. It's ability to direct light or control flash glare in portrait photography is amazing. Great product and I will be purchasing more!

This is a great tool to have in your lighting kit. Though I don't use this a whole lot, when I need it, I really need it. It's a wonderful piece of the Honl Photo line, and I'm glad I own one. I'll probably buy one or a few more in the future.

Great build quality, simple and easy to use, very quick to slap on a flash if you have the HonlPhoto speed strap.
