About the Author

Appreciating the wonders of God's creation has always been a favorite pastime for Sandy Dengler. She remembers spending a great deal of time as a child exploring the wood lots around her parent's home in Sidney, Ohio.

Sandy's interest in nature greatly influenced her life as she grew older, as well. After receiving her undergraduate degree at Bowling Degree State University in 1961, she went on to receive a Master's in desert ecology at Arizona State University. One of her courses required that she do a detailed study on one of the major deserts of the world; she chose Australia. As time went by she learned to love this rugged country&a love that is captured quite vividly in her AUSTRALIAN DESTINY series. This is a continuation of THE CODE OF HONOR, a romantic tale of life in the Australian outback and set in the early 1900's.

"elements were somehow more elemental in the past and people lived closer to them. Our todays are so tied to the past," notes Sandy. And, by using the medium of historical fiction, she enjoys the best of both worlds: teaching truths from God's Word, touching lives as she does so, and being able to absorb herself in her writing as she "prowls the starkly beautiful woods and deserts of yesterday."

Sandy and her husband, a park service naturalist, make their home in Washington State, where she continues to write.

An Irish woman who speaks her mind chooses to become an indentured servant in Australia rather than stay in her rather depressed city. All she really takes with her is her code of honor (and her sisters). There are obviously books that will follow, but it does give some closure. It shows the struggles of life in both Ireland and Australia. It isn't a happy light read, but I did enjoy it and find it interesting.

A well written enjoyable story. I always enjoy reading books about Australia and this was no exception. I felt the ending left me hanging a bit or I would have given 5 stars.

Just not my kind of book and I really can't pinpoint the reason except it had too many twist and turns and unrelated things I guess. I gave it a 4 but not sure it deserved it.

This book was very hard to read and for the most part didn't make sense until the last chapter then it ended. Would not recommend this book and never would buy the next in series.

I wanted to try a different continent to read about but I didn't find it that interesting. A little sparse on the imaginative plot.

The author does an interesting job of creating singularly flawed characters to bring the plot to a fiery conclusion. Once again, love finds the way...

I enjoyed this book quite a bit, and ended up purchasing the rest of the books in the series. I liked the historical Australian setting and the character's faith.
