A super sexy thrill ride guaranteed to make you swoon! (New York Times Bestselling Author Laura Kaye)

About the Author

Tonya wrote her first romance in 8th grade and hasn't put down her pen since. She shares her life with two dogs and a ginormous cat, and she's from a small town in Western New York, but is currently soaking up the sun as a Florida girl. She suffers from a bad case of wanderlust and usually ends up moving someplace new every few years--luckily, her animals are all excellent travel buddies.

When she's not writing about hunky military heroes, Tonya can usually be found at a bookstore or the dog park. She also enjoys painting, watching movies, and her daily barre workouts. A geek at heart, she pledges her TV fandom to Supernatural and Dr. Who.

This is probably my favorite Tonya Burrows book to date and that is definitely saying a lot since I have loved every book she has written to date.

The book immediately starts off with a scene worthy of an episode of 24. The action packed pace and interesting story line would be enough to make anyone a fan of this book. But luckily for us there is so many more components of this story that make it even more enjoyable.

It is no secret that I fell in love with the cast of characters that make up HORNET, in Seal of Honor. And when we found out who was going to be the lead character of this book in Wilde Nights in Paradise, I was happy with the choice. PTSD is a topic that is extremely hard to think about. In my life time, this has been something that has become more prevalent and something we hear more about, especially after the recent Iraq war. So yes it is hard to hear about, but I knew it must be even more difficult to write about. I read another NA story last year about the topic and I thought that author had done such a great job talking about her character having PTSD, but reading Seth's struggle in Honor Reclaimed made the disease so much more real and so much for heart-breaking. PTSD is a tough subject, and I believe Tonya Burrows really did it justice.

Separating the PTSD from Seth's character, we also get to read about the every day burden that he carries around with him regarding his failed mission. And damn in, that is some real turmoil and my heart really ached for him and everything he carried on his solders. I wanted him to start cutting himself some slack and allow himself to heal and learn how to be happy again. And that where Phoebe comes in.

Phoebe is one of those characters that I was torn about.

Quick summary
Marine sniper Seth Harlan was a POW in Afghanistan for many months before he was rescued, almost near death after being severely tortured. No longer suitable for military duty, HORNET is his only chance to continue doing what he was trained to do but he's hanging on by a thread. His teammates don't trust his readiness but he's determined to somehow persevere. Photojournalist Phoebe Leighton is on assignment in Afghanistan doing a documentary on the plight of young girls in the country when she stumbles upon an arms deal. When HORNET arrives with Seth on the team to rescue a black ops soldier, Phoebe's drawn to the man with whom she's got a special but secret connection.

The suspense
Seth is dealing not only with the rigor of the operation to rescue the soldier, but also his flashbacks and his team's lack of confidence in him. The situation is treacherous and even Seth isn't sure if he can do his job. The target is evil and Phoebe is also at risk for her role in bringing attention to the arms deal and her documentary subject. The tension is enormous, especially as it's almost impossible to gauge who's friend or foe.

The romance
While the suspense was compelling the relationship between Phoebe and Seth was just magical. It wasn't just about lust and physical attraction. She was Seth's lifeline as he found in her someone that knew what he needed to regain his sense of self and honestly deal with what happened while he was imprisoned. It's one of the highlights of the story, even though Phoebe was harboring a serious secret.

The bottom line
I initially thought this was definitely more pitched to the suspense side of things until I realized how integral the romance was to the heart of the operation.

This is Seth Harlan's story and it's fantastic. I admit to having a bit of a crush on Seth since I first read about him in Wilde Nights in Paradise. When I started this book I was beyond excited to read this wounded warriors story and it did not disappoint. Seth is a deeply hurt and scared soul who I wanted to hug and never let go of. By the end I was totally in love with him and I now have a new book boyfriend.

But I can't go past the heroine in Phoebe, I loved her. She was the perfect match for Seth. She had spunk, was feisty, dared to go where others wouldn't, was fighting for a good cause and was loyal to the people she was helping to a fault. Plus I absolutely loved the way she didn't back down from Seth and the rest of Hornet or Tuc the billionaire financing this group. Or didn't care that Seth was scared and afraid, she saw him for him.

Together they are now a favourite couple of mine. The chemistry is hot between them. Even when they were fighting the attraction that was there, it just kept getting stronger and when Phoebe would push Seth past his comfort zone she was there with him all the way. To see how she brings him out of his shell and helps to quiet his demons is heart warming.

" Why didn't he get it ? She didn't care what he looked like. It didn't matter because she wanted him. All of him. Scars and all"

This books picks up not long after Seal of Honor and the team is still adjusting and bugging the crap out of each other. It's truly fun to read. The interaction between the team members is at times hilarious. Especially when Seth finally cracks a joke. Their reaction is priceless. We also get to see parts of the storyline from Seal move forward and I can't wait to see how these will play out. Think Quinn.
