Richard Rutherford is the acknowledged expert in America on funeral and burial practices. . . . The strength of Rutherford's book is its clarification of the symbolic, even sacramental, meaning of the body.
I highly recommend this booklet as a resource for all parish and diocesan leaders who minister to the dying and the bereaved and/or who are involved with the planning of funeral liturgies. It would also be a useful resource for funeral directors.
